"Your partial freedom is not the only thing you should be thanking me for." Day says with a smirk and then looks Brick's body up and down.
Flinching slightly from Day's gaze, Brick also looks down at himself, confused.
That was when he noticed he was dressed in soft pajama's and the blood on his body that he last remembered was there before was now gone. He realised that Day had both washed and dressed him.
...Day had seen him naked.
And he knew that Brick was bi.
Not that this should make a difference, but he unfortunately knew of some people who thought, just because you swung both ways, they could do whatever they wanted with you.
Shaking from fear but also anger at the thought of Day taking advantage of him, Brick gulps and was about to ask Day something when...
Ring ring...Ring ring
The phone shakes Brick out of his anger, and Day out of the fun he was having teasing Brick, causing Day to stand up and clear his throat while Brick gulps and turns his head away from Day in frustration.
It's Day's phone that is ringing.
It's Fu.
Day is confused as he hasn't talked to Fu in a few days, simply because they've both been busy.
"Hey, what's up?" Day answers the phone.
Fu tells him that Neil and Nan both had to leave last night in order to take care of some work so they asked him to make sure Night got home safe...and was alone.
As Day was talking, Brick slowly sits up and rubs his wrist, the pain making him wince a little. He watches Day with big eyes, observing his face as he talks to someone who Brick assumes is his friend and noticing the slight relaxation in his face muscles compared to when he was talking to him.
Day's eyebrow's weren't furrowed together, his eyes were relaxed, his mouth a soft straight line, not the hard tight lips that Brick was unintentionally staring at earlier.
Brick wanted to believe that Day hadn't done anything to him last night because...if he was being honest with himself, he was so attracted to Day, and wanted him to not swoop that low...But after how violent he'd seen Day become last night, he couldn't help but want to know the truth.
He thought about how his body felt, and realised, apart from pain near the bruises where Day had hit him, he didn't feel any pain anywhere else...nor did he see any marks on his body that were indicative of something else.
Slightly happy but also confused as to why he was happy that the person who had beaten him up last night hadn't done something much worse, Brick tried to force down his emotions as he noticed Day was now staring at him intently.
Back to the phone call:
Unfortunately for Day, as Fu was making his way inside, he saw Gear and Night leaving out the door that led straight to the car park. He tried his best to rush over and stop them but the bar was too busy and he couldn't make it through the crowd in time. He didn't know what Gear's car looked like either so he texted Day almost 100 times and called around 20 times. He assumed Day had something else very important going on because his phone was coming up as switched off the entire time.
Day's phone had switched off because he hadn't charged it and had only remembered to plug it in, in the morning. But that was right before he left to smoke, so he didn't check his phone.
Fu was about to tell Day that he went to their house and saw Gear drop off Night then leave, but Day had hung up the phone right when Fu told him that he had called and texted him a lot.
Fu had texted this to Day but right now Day was too angry to think about reading through his texts.
He was thinking of his brother who may have been hurt again last night...and he wasn't there.
It was all because of Brick.
Suddenly angry at the slim figure again, who was confused as to why Day had hung up the phone without saying anything except hi.
Brick's eye's widened in fear as Day began walking towards him with rage written all over his face.
"W - What's wrong?" Brick asks, knowing that there must be some reason to do with Night, but too afraid to say Day's precious brother's name.
"You are going to call Ai'Gear right now." Day said in a low voice, clenching his jaw afterwards due to the pressure of trying to not scream right this moment and knock Brick out.
"Okay but what do you want to know? So I can make it seem realistic." Brick asks, wanting to help Day because he didn't want to get hurt again. Day's punches really hurt. Even right now as he was speaking there was a slight pain in his mouth.
"Just. Call. Him" Day says, trying to exhale his anger away, "And ask him if he slept with my brother last night."
"What?...Ah, okay!" Brick quickly agrees, despite his nervousness and immediate confusion.
Brick quickly picks up his phone which was on the bedside table and calls Gear, putting it on speaker phone.
Gear answers after a few seconds, which felt like an eternity.
"Hey...um, how was last night?" Brick asks Gear while staring up at Day, who was now siting opposite him, on the bed.
Gear tells Brick that it was okay but asks why he called so early in an irritated voice.
"Nothing...did you take N'Night home?" Brick asks, trying to get Gear to tell him without actually asking him directly.
"Yeah...why?" Gear answers, now confused.
"You didn't - spend the night at his place?" Brick asks, genuinely confused, as in normal situations Gear most definitely would have.
"No, I just dropped him off. If you're going to ask about dumb shit this early, I'm hanging up, I have a hangover." Gear says, annoyed not at his friend, but more or less at the interruption to his sleep.
When Gear hangs up the phone, Brick looks down at his phone and then back up at Day.
He sees Day exhale softly and then smile softly at him.
"Come on, get up. I'll make breakfast." Day says, in a much softer tone than before.
Day hates to admit it, but he regrets being angry at Brick so easily, but his brother is his whole life.
His brother is the reason he chooses to wake up in the morning every day.
But still...he felt apologetic, so he decided to make breakfast as an apology.
Day gets up and begins walking towards the bedroom door.
Brick's eyes widen as he places his hand on his racing heart.
Day smiling at him like that was not something he expected...nor was this reaction to it.
Day is about to exit the bedroom but stops when he hears a sudden shout.
As Brick was standing up, his body gave out underneath him, due to the pain shooting up his legs and back. He shouts out in pain as he begins to fall.
But before he could hit the ground, he felt a strong arm around his slim, lean waist, that pulled him up. His chest collided with a wide muscley one and he looked up at Day with big round eyes filled with shock.
Day looked down into Brick's adorable eyes, and a bittersweet feeling rose in his heart.
He hurt Brick because he hurt his brother.
But now he regrets hurting Brick, because...seeing Brick in pain like this.
...caused him pain too.
