"I think he has a concussion since he is sleeping a lot but apart from that he seems healthy. There are no broken bones and the scratches he has are small ones" you explained Revali's mother. She sat down and sighed loudly. "I knew it is dangerous for him to be a champion but it still hurts to hear such things. It does not matter how old he is, he is still my baby" she said.

"Can I take care of him?" You asked and continued. "I know you have problems with your wings and you cannot stay at the flight range with him. Besides that, this way I can thank him for being there for me when my father died. He always made sure I was never alone."

"Of course you can. It is easier for my old wings if I have not to fly that much but please inform me about everything. He is going to be so grateful for that (Y/N), to know his friend is caring for him." "Actually, I would like to handle this without him knowing it was me who took care of him." You looked down to the floor.

"We are no more friends for a long time now and on top of that we had a bad fight last week. He is going to be so mad if he knows I took care of him. Things are not easy between us." Revali's mother took your hand in hers.

"My dear (Y/N), every relationship has its up and downs. It does not matter if it is a relationship between family members, friends or even lovers. I know Revali changed and he is different now, but deep inside, he is still the same and I am sure he still cares about you the same you care about him. Just give it some time. But if you do not want him to know all this, it is your choice."

"Thank you, I really appreciate it" you said and hugged her. She whispered in your ear: "I hope one day, he is going to find someone like you. A strong personality but a good heart. This is something I wish for both of you." This made you blush. 'She is not thinking Revali should be with me, right? No, she said she is wishing this for both of us.'

"Thank you" you whispered back. A little later, after preparing some things, you went to see Kent. "Hey Kent, can you tell the other Captains that I will be more absent the next few days?" "Sure, did something happen? You look nervous."

You hesitated to tell him but you had to. "Yes... Revali got beaten up in a fight against a Hinox and I am taking care of him. His mother is not able to, so I am doing it. If anyone is asking just tell them Revali needs some assistance in a case and I am helping him. Ok?"

"Alright. I wanted to ask you out for dinner tomorrow but I guess I have to wait. This is making me a little jealous" he joked. A small smile appeared on your beak. "I will take that time for you, there is no reason to be jealous, I only have eyes for you" you winked. "Revali is sleeping almost all the time so he is not going to notice anyway. Pick me up at my hut at sunset. I have to go now, see you tomorrow" you said and kissed him on his cheek.

Arriving at the flight range, Revali was still sleeping. You packed out the ingredients you brought to make him a hearty raddish soup. 'I hope it is still his favorite.' He looked so peaceful, so you started to talk to him.

"I never thought we would end up like this. Do you remember when we saw this frog with yellow eyes? This was sixteen years ago and you told me you wanted to be the best archer. We did everything together as kids and now we are rivals. That is at least what you are thinking. I never wanted to be your rival, I wanted to be your friend. Look what our jobs did to us... we are not even talking with each other anymore" you started crying silently.

"I would immediately quit my job to have my friend back, it is not the same without you. And today you scared me to death. You knew what happened to my father. What in earth came to your mind to go fight this beast alone?! Even if we are not on good terms I do not want to lose you! I thought you were dead when you laid there in the snow!"

Revali slightly opened his eyes and moaned. Shocked he could have heard you, you clasped your wing on your beak. But he closed his eyes again and turned around, now his back facing you. 'I have to be more careful'.

"Sorry I did not want to yell at you. I just want you to be safe" you said silently. You calmed down and finished his soup. It smelled delicious and the bread you brought was fresh and fitted the soup perfectly. "When you wake up, please eat it. You are going to feel better. I am going back to the Village now but I will come back soon." With your wing you caressed his head. "Get well soon."
