War & Love - Revali x Reader

Chapter 5

Working with Revali was not easy. You were the head of the Rito army and as a General, everyone should follow your lead. But Revali was something special, he was a champion. Since you and him most of the time had different opinions in how to fight, the Captains and rest of the army did not know who to follow.

This was the case until the village elder had to intervene. He clearly said to everyone, they had to follow you. It was not a problem for the army, they would gladly follow your instructions. But there was one certain Rito who did not like this at all.

Your conversation with him at the hot springs was weeks ago and the more time passed, the less you cared about him. It is hard to describe how you felt. At the beginning, it was difficult and hurtful to see him. But now you don't feel anything but emptiness.

Once again you, Revali and the Captains had the weekly meeting. You were explaining a new tactic to how to defeat a group of Bokoblins and Moblibs. "You cannot do it like that (Y/N)" Revali interrupted you. You rolled your eyes. "And that's why?" You asked him annoyed.

"Because you give the enemy a chance to attack you!" Your patience was on the edge. "You would be right if we would still fight like before. But this is the point, we are here because I want to introduce the new tactic. Didn't you hear it when I said that archers and spear wielders are working together?"

"Of course I have heard it I am not deaf. But I don't think this is the right way. You should do it like-" "It does not matter what you think! This is my army, my choice and my tactic! We are doing it MY way! Do you understand that?" Revali, who was standing next to you, took one step closer to you.

"If you continue like this, this army will soon loose every single soldier. This is going to be your fault alone!" Now your patience was over and Revali's step to you could not intimidate you. In fact, you were also taking a step closer to him.

"Shut your beak! Don't you dare to talk about me like that! Just because you are a Champion you do not have the right to treat the others like garbage. Or is it only me, you have problem with?! Once you were kind, but now you are only selfish and arrogant! I do not want to see you today anymore. Leave!"

With widened eyes he looked at you. "What?" You touched with your index finger his chest. "Oh I thought you are not deaf. I said leave! I do not want to see you in today's meeting anymore!" He did not move for a moment. Then he turned around a flew away.

You needed a moment to catch your breath and calm down. Afterwards you talked to the Captains again. "I am sorry you had to see that. I think it is better for now to finish this meeting. We are going to talk about it again in our next meeting."

As you packed up your belongings, one of the Captains came to you. "You know (Y/N), a General should be sure in its decisions and today you showed us that you are made for this position. Besides, I am glad you told Revali to shut up. He is unbearable."

"Thank you Kent. It is nice to hear that at least one of my Captains is on my side. I am sorry you guys had to see me like that." He gave you a warm smile. "We are all on your side, believe me. Do you want to go for a flight? We can go to one of the Sheikah Towers and have a break there."

You breathed deep while you were thinking about his offer. "You know what, this is a great idea. Let's go to Hebra Tower, there we have nice view."

The two of you arrived at the Tower and sat on the edge on it. You were there for almost three hours and had a lovely conversation. "I think we should go back, it is getting dark soon" he said. "Yes you are right, let's go."

"Before we leave I want to ask you something" he began. "I am thinking about this for a time now but I have a feeling, the time is right now. I like you and I would really like to go on a date with you. What do you say?"

Wow, this was something you did not expect. He was a nice guy but can there be more between you? "Yes, let's go on a date. But I want to take it slow since we are preparing for a war. Who knows if we are going to make it out alive."

"Alright, thatsounds good" he said and gave you a kiss on your cheek.
