Chapter 21

The day has come. The Calamity overtook Hyrule Castle and there were everywhere Guardians attacking innocent people. Fortunately Rito Village war far enough for not getting attacked, or at least for now. You positioned three Captains with their troops around your Village, just for the case they will attack it. There were each two troops near Snowfield Stable and Serenne Stable. The rest of you army were distributed around the Ridgeland Area, since this was the nearest way to the Castle.

Shorty after the Calamity awakened there were four ball like somethings, that went to each of the Divine Beasts. "What is this?" you asked yourself. You did not have enough time to think about it, since you saw a huge mass of monsters coming towards the Ridgeland. "Captains!" you yelled as loud as you could. "You know what to do! Let's defend our homes!" Everyone cheered and lifted their weapons into air before they all attacked the monsters.

Suddenly there was a loud screech from Vah Medoh. You looked into the sky and saw a pink barrier around him. Your only thought was about Revali and how he was alone up there. 'I need to help him'. So you flew up there as fast as you could and what you saw there made your heart drop. On Vah Medoh's back was Revali fighting a massive, pink and black beast. It had red, spiked hair and some kind of mask on with one eye. One hand was normal while in the other it held some sort of a canon.

"Revali!" You yelled again. He shortly looked to in your direction, then focused again on his fight. "(Y/N), go help the others, I can manage it myself. Your army needs you!" He knew exactly this was a strong opponent and he might die there but he wanted you to help and protect the others. Your thoughts were spinning around. You were not able to help him but you wanted it so badly. Your heart ached at the thought of losing him. "Revali, I will find a way to help you. Please stay strong!"

Right in this moment you saw a bright blue beam coming towards Vah Medoh. 'What now?' You turned back again towards Revali and saw how the beast was about to kill him. Your heart skipped a beat but you did not even had the time to yell or even think when that blue beam disappeared on Vah Medoh's back and right there appeared a white Rito with a bow. He defended Revali and attacked the beast. 'Who is that? I have never seen this Rito before.' you thought and saw how he said something to Revali. 'I think they will handle it well, I should help the others down there.' So you flew down.

It was already night and the battle was in full swing. An now there were even Hinoxes and a Lynel terrorizing your troop. You were fighting some Lizalfos when a loud thunder destroyed a nearby hill. Shortly after, you saw Link rushing towards it. "Link!" he turned towards you. "What happened and why are you here?" you asked. He panted heavily. "Ganon overtook the Castle and all the ancient Sheikah technology. The King has fallen but the Princess, Impa and I made it safely out of the Castle. We rushed towards Vah Naboris and Vah Medoh to claim them back. Naboris is free now and I am on my way to Medoh. After that we want to go to Rutah and Rudania."

You knew something bad happened but you never expected the Guardians and Divine Beast turn against you. "Oh no this is bad but we have to do everything to destroy Ganon. Good luck on your mission and if you need my help let me know. I am going to stay here and help my army." You said. Link nodded and rushed off. Enemy after enemy was killed and they all poofed into a purple cloud. The path was now clear and you all waited for Link, Revali and the other Rito to return.

After what felt like an eternity, Vah Medoh's light changed from pink into his usual blue. Cheering was everywhere around you. Just now, you realized how many Gerudo's were there. They all came to help after Vah Naboris was rescued. Next to Urbosa was a young Gerudo girl with a sand seal. Just as you wanted to talk to her you heard someone landing behind you. You turned around and saw Revali standing there with a smirk on his face.

"You said you are going to find a way to help me, but sending Link up there? Really?" he teased you. Within a second you spread your wings and embraced Revali in a tight hug. "Shut up Revali, I am just glad you made it out alive" happy tears started running down your face and your heart fast beating faster and harder than ever. This is it, in this very moment you realized you fell in love with him. Sure, it happened quite fast but you knew him for such a long time. Maybe there were some feeling from the beginning but you never noticed them. Maybe this was even the reason why you never gave up on him.

Revali did not hesitate to swing his wings around you as well. He leaned on his cheek on top of your head and rested there for a couple of seconds before someone interrupted you. "Revali" Link was standing behind the two of you. "I have to go to eastern Hyrule to help Mipha and Daruk.. You should stay here and help your friends." Revali nodded.

"Link, wait" you said. "You cannot make in in time to rescue Mipha and Daruk. Why don't you stay here with Zelda and Impa and rest for a while. I am going to send you three Ritos as soon as I reach them. They can give you a ride to the eastern side and this way you can safe a lot of time." He nodded shortly and sat down. Some of your Captains handed them water canteens and something to eat while you were off.
