You have not seen Revali for a whole week. Was he avoiding you again? Today's army meeting is going to be important and you were not sure if he would be there. Somehow, you felt nervous to see him again. As you were standing in the front and one by one of the Captains came, Kent approached you. "Are you ok? You seem nervous." You huffed. "Because I am. I have to tell everyone about a new mission that includes Revali. I am nervous about his reaction, I mean I am wondering if he will change something about his attitude." Kent kissed your cheek. "You do not have anything to be nervous about. Even if he is going to be rude again, it is nothing new and you know how to handle it." "You are right. Thank you."After some minutes, Revali arrived and went near you. He did not say anything, so you began with your meeting. As you were going on he was still quiet until you slowly came to an end. "The last point for today is a mission, we received from the Castle. The Sheikah Towers, which appeared a while ago, are an essential for the upcoming war. This is why the Champions, the Princess and some scientists are activating them. The only remaining one is the Akkala Tower. This is why King Rhoam wanted the Champions to accompany them"
You looked over to Revali only to see him looking at you too. "Revali, do you have some information you want to share with us?" He walked to your side. "Unfortunately not. The Sheikah scientist know the towers can help us in a way but they are not sure how. This is why we have to activate all of them first. Afterwards, they are hoping to have more information."
"Thank you, Revali. Good luck on your mission." He nodded to you and went back to his place. 'His calmness is so weird but in the same time it is refreshing' you thought. "Alright, thank you all for attending today. See you next week." With those words, you closed the meeting.
As you were packing your stuff, you heard someone approaching. "(Y/N), can I talk to you?" It was Revali. 'What does he want? Keep cool (Y/N)...' "Sure, go ahead." He cleared his throat and looked down. "Actually, I was wondering if we can go to another place to talk in private." Behind him you could see Kent observing you. You nodded to him as a sign that everything is ok. "Ok, lead the way."
The two of you were flying past Rito Village, to the south of it. Between Cuho Mountain and Rito Village was a pond, which was very familiar to you. "What are we doing here?" You asked him. Then he started. "So many years ago, you were catching frogs in this very pond. This is where we had our first conversation about our future. Both of us decided in a young age to become warriors and now look at us. You are the head of the army, the General and I am a Champion."
There was something in his eyes you could not place. Was it sadness? Nostalgia? Or maybe even regret? "I remember these good, old times. We had no idea what is going to happen. Not only between us, but also with the whole Calamity thing. Our life was carefree." You said. Revali huffed. "Indeed, it was. Listen (Y/N), I brought you here because it was the very beginning of everything and I wanted to apologize."
He looked ashamed to the floor. "I am sorry for how I treated you. It was nothing personal, I just wanted to be the best archer and I focused only on that. Everything else was a distraction. When I became a Champion, fame spoiled me. I can see that now. You are the person who suffered most because of it."
You were listening to his words carefully. "I did not deserve your treatment after the accident and I understand if you hate me after all the things I said." Now he finally looked into your eyes. "Revali..." you took his hand. "I was hurt and disappointed but I never hated you." You sighed hard as a huge rock fell from your heart. "I am glad you changed your opinion about your behavior. You have such a good heart and you should show everyone the real you."
Still holding his hand you gave him a smile. "Does that mean I have my friend back?" Revali had a blank face but it changed quickly into a grin. He pulled you into an embrace and said: "Now you cannot get rid of me. It feels good to have you back, now I realize how much I missed you." "I missed you too." The two of you giggled and enjoyed the newly found friendship.
"Hey, it is not common but do you want to come with me and the other Champions to the Akkala Tower?" You were surprised by his question but still happy. "If the others like the idea then sure, why not. But I am going to be in the background. I do not want to steal your fame" you teased him. "Ha ha, very funny miss General."
