A few days passed and you have not seen Revali that much. Most of his time he spent on Vah Medoh, but you had no idea why. Was he avoiding you? Or did he have a problem with Medoh? Only Revali knew the truth. It was not as if it bothered you much, in the end you were just curious.

You wanted to meet Kent for lunch at the flight range, since Revali was not there anyway. So the two of you could be alone. When Kent arrived, you were already busy with cooking. "What are you preparing?" he asked. "I thought it would be nice to have some Mushroom Risotto. Is that ok for you?" He hugged you from behind. "Everything you cook is ok for me, thank you for lunch."

As you turned around, you put your wings around his neck. "Everything for you" you said and kissed him. That is when you heard wing flapping. "What are you doing here?" The two of you turned around to see Revali landing on the platform of the hut. "You two can kiss somewhere else, this is my training ground. Now leave."

"Hello Revali, it is nice to see you" you said annoyed and continued. "We are here for lunch and wanted to be alone. Since you were not here much lately, I thought we could use the flight range. You know, the public training ground for archers. It is not only yours anymore." "It is still my flight range!" You started laughing. "Oh, is that so? I thought you are the best archer? You always say that. Why do you then need a training ground, when no one can beat you?"

Revali fluffed his feathers and you knew this was a sensitive subject to him. Judging by his appearance, you knew you have reached your goal, to make him angry. "How do you dare to make fun of me!? You little-" "Enough!" Kent stepped in between you and Revali. He shot him a deadly glare.

"Stop being such a prick, Revali! You behave like you are the King of Hyrule. Not even he is acting like you. You should be nicer to everyone, especially to (Y/N) after what happened after the Hinox attack!" Your eyes widened in shock. "Why should I be especially nicer to her? Just because she said I was on a mission does not make her special" Revali said.

Kent looked over to you. "Please Kent, don't." You were pleading and he knew you did not want Revali to know. "(Y/N) please, he will always treat you like that if you do not tell him the truth. Maybe this is the chance to change him, or at least his behavior towards you." You looked to the floor and nodded after a while. "What is going on here?" Revali asked calmer.

"It was (Y/N) who took care of you when you had the concussion" Kent said calmly and continued. "She made you breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, she even slept here to make sure you were ok. She cleaned your wounds and made sure they are not getting infected. And on top of that, she told everyone you were on a secret mission just to make sure your image as a champion would not be harmed, but you know that already."

"This cannot be true. My mother told me it was her." Revali said and looked over to you. You were still facing the floor. "I told your mother to keep it a secret. This is why she told you she took care of you." Now you looked him deep in the eyes. "Why would you do that"? Revali asked, almost whispering.

"I wanted to be there for you like you were for me, when my father died. Since we are no more friends and not on good terms, I wanted to keep it a secret because I know how much it would hurt your ego. For the same reason I lied to the others about the secret mission we were attending. Besides all of that, your mother has problems with her wings and she was not able to fly here that often to help you."

You took a deep breath and continued. "Do you understand Revali? After all this time, after all the fights we had, I still care about you. Believe me, I do not know why, but I still see my friend from sixteen years ago in you. I still see that little Rito in you, who did not want to touch a frog because it could soil his wing. And I dearly miss him."

There was silence for a few seconds. Nobody knew what to say until Revali broke the silence. "I need some time alone. Enjoy your lunch." And he flew away towards Vah Medoh. "Do you believe we should have kept this secret?" You asked Kent. "No, it was necessary to tell him. You have seen how confused he was. If we have luck, something will change now. What I do not understand is why you care about him. He was such a jerk towards you."

"Yes he was, but it was not always like this. I do not know what triggered him to be like that but I know for sure, deep inside he is still my friend."
