Everything happens so quickly that Namjoon can hardly react. One second he's screaming and running after his kid in immense fear and the next second there are ghost-like fences surrounding the man who is trying to run off in an attempt to kidnap Doyun.

It wasn't even the case of Namjoon not paying attention to his child. His ten year old son was right next to him, they were looking at candy by the grocery store register, and some big guy just swooped in and tried to take away the most precious human in Namjoon's life.

Namjoon cried out and ran after Doyun, but the magical fences locked the kidnapper in place. Not only did that happen, leaving everyone around in pure shock, but more ghost-like things appeared; magical ropes pulled the man away from Doyun and to the ground, trapping him and setting Doyun free.

The child cried out of fear along with Namjoon, and he immediately ran into his father's arms. Namjoon had heard about things like this in the news; the 'superhero' that they refer to often. He never thought something like this would happen to him personally and he never thought he'd believe in superheroes.

But whoever just saved his little Doyun deserves all his respect and gratitude. Namjoon needs to know who saved his child just now.

Namjoon searches like a detective.

This superhero isn't easy to trace. Nobody knows what sort of magic or power is being used, but it's a solid ghost-like material. It's transparent and has a grayish-bluish tint to it, but it's as hard as a rock and can easily be used for good or for evil; this person chose to use it for good.

It takes weeks before Namjoon finally finds something worthy of noting. He plays back news videos of live footage from the superhero in action. In three out of seven clips, there's a familiar man either standing off to the side or walking by. Namjoon finds it suspicious that ghost-like things are showing up behind him, yet the man doesn't spare at least a sprinkle of surprise in his expression.

That has to be him.

But how the hell could Namjoon find this guy and even if he does, what is he supposed to say? "Hey, you're that superhero, aren't you?" That's crazy. What if this isn't even the guy?

Namjoon glances over at his son, who's trying to make a grand meal for his dad: a sandwich, Doyun-style, as his son calls it.

Honestly, the embarrassment of walking up to some stranger and thanking him is worth it. He's just so glad that his son is okay. If all else fails, he'll go back to searching like a detective. For now, he needs to find this particular mysterious man.

———

Almost like a miracle or merely by pure chance, Namjoon runs into the mystery guy at the same grocery store from a few weeks ago; it's Namjoon's regular grocery store. Actually, he didn't run into the man, but rather saw him in one of the aisles and decided to linger around the shelves, pretending to need— what is this Namjoon's looking at?— parsley flakes, apparently.

It's now or never.

Namjoon clears his throat.

"Um. Hi there," he lets out into the embarrassingly quiet store. He wonders why the store's music is so low.
