Jungkook is in fucking college.
No way in hell should he be signing a little piece of paper, putting it inside some random guy's hat, and waiting for other participants to join in the game. But there are a lot of college students here at this party that his two best friends— Jimin and Taehyung— dragged him into and he's pretty sure his name won't be picked at the very least; joining won't harm anyone. The host just wanted to spice things up, mostly because she and her friends are trying to find excuses to make out with boys.
Jungkook feels a bit uneasy putting his name into the hat, but even if his name gets picked, the person he'll be stuck with will probably just strike small talk or they'll just sit there in the closet awkwardly. It's whatever.
See the thing is– Jungkook isn't a party guy. He'd rather stay at his dorm playing video games and buying his own beer to relax. Being around all these sweaty college students who mean nothing to him just seems so out of place. He feels bored, yet overstimulated. His body craves for something much better than this mess, but it also craves to just shut down and rest for hours on end; maybe those cravings are linked together, now that he thinks about it.
He'd rather be anywhere else right now. Even class sounds less stressful.
"Okay, we're gonna pick the first names now!" the host announces, her voice loud and clear. She's a cheerleader, after all.
A group of girls gather up alongside her. They glance over at the cute college boys, but don't spare a glance towards Jungkook– he's hiding by the wall anyway, doesn't think he'll be called out.
He worries, though. Jungkook is shy and doesn't really talk to anyone outside of his little friend circle. The last time he talked to a girl, he got all shy and nothing ever happened between them because of it. Don't even get him started on boys, though. Especially the cute sporty jocks. Jungkook unashamedly has a thing for men who play sports (and men who play instruments). It just so happens that most of the men that are currently in the room do either of those two things.
Great. And they're all cute.
The girls are cute, too, but they're a lot more overwhelming to him– at least those few girls in the center of the room are. Some girls are more chill.
Jungkook is positive that the names have been rigged and that the cheerleaders put in a lot more of their own names and the jocks' names. He saw one of them writing her name four times earlier when he was in the kitchen for another beer and she was writing away on the counter, giggling with another girl as she did so.
