[V]alentine's Day

BTS spend Valentine's Day together.

  Taehyung has always disliked this time of the year. Stuffed animals, chocolates, cards, and love everywhere. It's not that he doesn't like seeing people be happy, but he feels like his own life has come to a complete stop.

Of course, he would never want to change what he has now. He has everything he could've ever ask for. BTS, ARMY, achievements, money, good looks, even Yeontan and his friends and family— but when does he get to have more than that? When does he get to meet his soulmate and live happily ever after with Yeontan and his lover?

Valentine's Day is a setup.

Usually, Taehyung sits in his room and ignores the day. When he was in school, he used to get cute little notes in his locker or things like that, but he's an adult now and years have gone by with nothing to show, nobody to spend time with. He wants to be cute and buy things for his lover, spend the whole day together, and go out to dinner.

It's not fair.

This year, Taehyung woke up and his mind immediately started to flow with all sorts of different thoughts. He stared at the ceiling of the dorms, frustrated. When will his life puzzle be completed? Will he turn old with nobody by his side? How long will he be lonely?

He finally decided to get out of bed and start the day near lunchtime. He freshened up and made his way to the living room, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion as he noticed Jimin, Hoseok, and Jungkook sitting on the floor. There were arts and crafts things everywhere and Taehyung doesn't remember going to sleep with the living room this messy.

"What're you guys doing?"

They all looked up at him at the same time, which only drew Taehyung in closer to them. The first thing he noticed was little red hearts, colored paper, glue, scissors— just a bunch of things that scream a big mess.

"Look," Jimin said as he turned back to his station. He picked up a folded purple heart and opened it, revealing a big V in the middle and little writings all around it. "We made this for you. I even got Jin hyung to sign it."

Taehyung's heart felt warm as he stared down at the card that was made for him. "Have you guys been here all morning or something?" he asked as he took the card.

"We went to the shop to buy these things last night," Hoseok explained. "We were going to ask you to come too, but you fell asleep early. We planned this all last night. You can join us now, come sit next to me." He patted the spot next to him and scooted over.

Taehyung slowly made his way to the spot, being pulled down by Hoseok and Jimin. "Are you guys making Valentine's cards?" he asked. "I have nobody to make cards for."

Jimin huffed. "Us."

He held up another three cards, one light blue, one pink, and a darker pink one. Taehyung could barely see Namjoon's name on the blue one and half of Seokjin's on the dark pink. He looked down to see Jungkook working on a yellow card, Hoseok's stage name written on it, and a finished white card sitting next to him with Jimin's name on it. Hoseok was still on his first card, Yoongi's name on it.

"You're making cards for the members?" he asked, eyeing all of the tempting markers, pens, paints, ribbons, paper, string, jewels, and stickers. They probably bought the whole store, especially if all three of them went.

"Yep." Hoseok smiled at him.

"Make some," Jimin told him. "We bought a lot of stuff. Just do whatever you want. The others are coming to make some, too. We talked them into it, believe it or not."

Taehyung hummed. If the other members are making cards, then there's no reason as to why he shouldn't make any at all. Just because he doesn't like Valentine's Day doesn't mean that he doesn't love his friends.

"Okay.."

It was pretty fun making cards. Taehyung ended up making a lot more than he had intended. He made not only one, but a lot for each member. He even made one for himself. It became even more fun when the other members arrived and started making cards as well. They all laughed and sang love songs, getting themselves in the mood.

At some point, Taehyung mentioned how much he hated Valentine's Day. After he mentioned it, all of the members started to treat him differently, starting with the way Hoseok played gently with his hair, soothing him. Then Yoongi wrapped his arm around Taehyung and massaged his shoulders, just a small enough gesture to make him smile.

Namjoon and Jungkook made an extra card for Taehyung, which Namjoon had specifically made for the "Valentine hater". Jungkook's excuse for an extra card was just silence, not even mentioning it when he gave it to Taehyung. They were all pretty cards and Taehyung felt special receiving them. Seokjin had joked around and somehow managed to make Taehyung a rose out of paper and glitter, though it did look a little poor.

"For you." He laughed as he handed it to Taehyung, watching glitter fall all over Yoongi, who just happened to be in between them. Taehyung laughed as well as he watched Yoongi flick the red glitter off of him, pouting and complaining to his hyung.

Even though he hates Valentine's Day, Taehyung noticed something as he was making cards with his friends. No matter what, he's happy with them. He's happy just making cards and laughing with them. They'll always be in his life— have been for about ten years now. He couldn't imagine his life without them. Being with them is much more valuable than being with anyone else right now.

For now, this is all he needs.
