Chapter 4. An old friend

The first obstacle was a breeze, Cupa propelled over it with ease but I vaulted over it using a cheat gainer backflip which gave it more style, As Cupa ran, she looked behind with a slightly impressed look... It was suppose to be a race, but I just couldn't help but do tricks, I found it fun...
The next obstacle required us to either jump over it or slide downwards and then climb up a wall...

(Narrator...)

Cupa grinned with confidence and charged up her feet, she propelled upwards, over the obstacle and over the wall, she then looked back at Kurch with a cheeky grin on her face, Kurch then dashed, slid downwards under the obstacle and with a great force, made a wall run which cracked a part of the wall...
Kurch was now catching up to Cupa, she knew that she had to run faster if she wanted to win, so focusing all of her energy on her feet, she increased her speed, but Kurch too had something up his sleeve... His eyes flashed, from dark brown to a bright blue, his body felt less tired and he felt a rush of energy within him, he doubled his pace and as a way of taunting, he threw in a front flip followed by a side flip, Cupa then looked back, she saw Kurch's eyes, they were different. As she ran, she thought about how Kurch had suddenly gained significantly more strength and speed... As she thought even more, she didn't notice the glass ahead blocking her way, she stopped dead in her tracks to avoid accidentally jumping through the glass and falling to what could be a certain death for her... She looked for another way and saw the stairs leading downwards, she ran as fast as she could downstairs, but before she could make it downstairs, she heard glass break...
"Did he just jump through the window?!" Cupa asked in her mind with bewilderment...
Cupa made it outside just in time to see Kurch running on the top of an iron beam which was teetering slightly, but even so, Kurch seemed to keep his balance, he did a side flip and taunted at Cupa by waving at her while running backwards on the beam...

???: you can't lose to this human!
Cupa: what?! Who said that?!
???: me of course! Your inner personality!
Cupa: do you have a name?
???: no... But don't focus on that now, we're going to lost to that human!

By the time Cupa caught up, Kurch had already crossed the finishing line, he was waiting for her...

Cupa: y-you're pretty good...

Kurch: haha.. Thanks! You're pretty good yourself!

Cupa: yeah, how did you manage to catch up so quickly anyways?!

Kurch: an old friend trained me...

Cupa: I don't believe that was any mere training at all!

Kurch: well it's probably because I've gotten used to doing crap like that I guess...

Cupa: you jumped through a window without hesitation... Why?

Kurch: oh it's nothing really, just my guts and my awesome willpower...

Cupa: wait a minute... Your eyes changed colour before... How...

Kurch:uh-uhm... Contact lenses...

Cupa: no it's not that...

Kurch: okay fine, you caught me, I have a special ability... It allows me to enhance my physical attributes and even helps me to ignore all pain. I haven't really mastered it yet so it isn't able to that numbing of pain power properly...

Cupa: so if you stopped using you're power, you would feel the pain of that big piece of glass which has stabbed into your left leg?
