Madelyn's POV:

It was the day before our wedding and I was so nervous and excited at the same time. We decided to do a sunset ceremony on the beach with just a few family members and friends. We planned on having a nice dinner afterwards.

"What are you thinking about?" Chase asked me as I sat quietly beside him on the couch.

I realized that I had been zoning out for the past couple of minutes and suddenly snapped out of it.

"Nothing." I whispered. I felt my eyes get a bit glossy.

"Baby, talk to me." He begged.

I sighed deeply. "I'm probably about 8 weeks pregnant right now." I said alluding to the time I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks.

Chase nodded and rubbed my thigh with his hand.

"I know you're scared." Chase said.

I laid my head down on his chest as he played with my hair.

"It's ok." He whispered.

We sat like that for a while.

"I have a doctors appointment in 3 days." I said, breaking the silence.

"Good, hopefully you can get some medication for the morning sickness too." Chase replied.

I threw up nonstop all of last week. I hadn't thrown up since, but it was miserable and I didn't want it to come back.

"I can't believe we're getting married tomorrow." I said trying to lighten the mood.

He smiled. "I'm so excited Mads. I can't wait to see you in your dress!"

I still hadn't shown Chase the dress, it was going to be a surprise tomorrow.

A few hours later, I was in the bedroom setting aside some clothes for tonight and tomorrow.

"I'm staying at my parents tonight, remember?" I called to Chase who was sitting in the living room.

"The sleeping together before the wedding curse isn't real, you know that right?" Chase joked.

"Babe, you know I'm superstitious..." I replied.

Chase entered the bedroom and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"I'm gonna miss you." He said quietly.

"I know, but it's one night." I said.

He laughed and kissed the side of my head.

Before we had to part ways tonight, we were going to have a dinner at my parents house. It would be me, Chase, my parents, my grandmother, Chase's dad and stepmom, and his mom and stepdad.

"Are you looking forward to seeing your parents?" I asked him as we were getting ready because he hadn't seen all of them in a year or so.

"Yeah, I just don't want it to be awkward." He replied.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"It's always weird when my mom and dad are together, ever since the divorce." He said.

I could tell he didn't really want to talk about it. His parents divorce was a touchy subject, especially now because he was getting married.

"I'm sure it'll be ok. They're all here to celebrate us." I reassured him. I wanted this night to be about us and our big moment. I didn't want Chase to worry about how his parents were going to interact with each other.
