Chase and Madelyn: A love story

Chapter 89

Madelyn's POV:

A few weeks later

Chase had been very busy at work the past week. His filming schedule was intense, it was a majority of the day many days out of the week. He would leave early and come back late. My birthday and Christmas were coming up soon which was exciting because it would be the twins first Christmas. Chase had already bought personalized stockings for them. The twins had mostly been good but Juliet was crying a lot because she was teething. James still hadn't grown any teeth yet, but I wasn't concerned because all of his milestones usually came later than Juliet's. 

I was really enjoying being a mom, it was crazy to see my exact face and features in my babies. James looked more like Chase, but he still had some of my features. Juliet looked exactly like me, and it always made my parents emotional, since it was like seeing me as a baby again. My parents would be visiting LA soon for my birthday, I really missed them, but I loved our new LA house. It was in a great neighborhood and near a lot of our friends.

"Good morning love." Chase whispered. 

I rubbed my eyes, it was really early. I began to sit up.

"No, don't get up Mads. It's 6, but I have to go." He said.

I opened my eyes and smiled as I saw Chase sitting beside me with his hand on my cheek.

"What are you going to do today?" He asked.

Because I wasn't working, Chase wanted to make sure that I didn't fall back into a depressive state and had things to do during the day to keep me busy.

I yawned. "I have to run some errands. Maybe go for a walk." I replied.

"That sounds good. Be careful though, ok?" Chase asked. Since we moved to LA, Chase had been extremely worried and cautious about the paparazzi here, there weren't any in South Carolina. Sometimes they could be scary and we would be followed or harassed, but it hadn't happened yet since the move. 

"I know, I will. Have fun today babe." I said.

"Thanks, I love you. I'll see you tonight." Chase replied.

"Love you too." I said.

"Oh, by the way, James was awake so I fed him but Jules is still sleeping." Chase said.

"Thank you baby." I replied.

He kissed my cheek and I turned over in bed to go back to sleep.

I woke up two hours later to Juliet crying. I rushed to the twins room where I found James sleeping and Juliet wailing with her small hand in her mouth.

"Oh, baby, it's ok." I hushed as I gently removed her hand from her mouth. Her cheeks were flushed and she had a slight rash around her lips.

I picked Juliet up and rocked her back and forth. Usually she would settle down once I picked her up, but she didn't. I took her downstairs to the kitchen as she squirmed in my arms.

"Shh, it's ok honey." I whispered. "What will help you, huh?" I asked in a baby voice.

I opened the fridge and took out a chilled applesauce pouch. I cradled her in my lap as I sat down on the couch and slowly squeezed some applesauce into her mouth. I assumed the coldness of it might relieve the swelling and pain. She ate it but didn't stop squirming. Eventually I gave up and decided to nurse her instead. Juliet immediately settled down once she latched. I winced in pain, my boobs had been so sore to begin with, but now that Juliet had a tooth, she would bite me by accident.
