Anna Kate's POV
I arrived at the school and went to see if Levi was okay. I saw him lying there looking deathly pale. He was hyperventilating and I wasn't sure how to calm him down. Then an idea came into my mind.
"Okay Levi name 5 things you can see", I said
"Cot, Table, Curtain, Desk, and computer," He responded
"Good, now 4 things you can touch," I said.
"Your hand, the blanket, a water bottle, and the mattress," he muttered.
"Great, now 3 things you can hear," I kept going
"Your voice, Keys typing on the computer, and footsteps outside," he said slowly.
"Awesome, 2 things you can smell?"
"The hand soap and the hand sanitizer," He stuttered a bit but his breaths evened out.
"Lastly, 1 thing you can taste," I said
"My gum," he said.
"Good job Levi how're you feeling now?" I asked.
"I feel better, Thank you," He engulfed me in a hug and I rubbed his back. I stepped outside to talk with the nurse.
"So, What happened to him," I asked.
"He had a panic attack in class. He passed out once or twice for a few seconds. He was inconsolable until you came, thank you so much," Ms. Nortum, the nurse told me.
"Oh of course I was just heading home from work," I responded.
I took Levi to the car and we drove home. When we got to the house I dropped him off and realized that it was time to get Kristen. Once we all were home I began to cook dinner.
"Anna, I can't find my shoes," Kristen whined.
"Where are you going?" I asked her.
"Trista asked me over for dinner," she said.
"Ok, have fun, your shoes are by the couch!" I told her.
"Thanks Anna, See you later, Ill be back around 8:00!" She hollered as she ran out the front door.
~ 30 minutes later ~
Levi's POV
"Levi, dinner," Anna yelled to me. I ran down the stairs, today we were having tacos!Everything smelled amazing, it made me miss my mom, she made the best tacos.
Anna brought in the food and put it down on the table, "Here," she said pushing a bowl towards me. I ate everything in sight, I was starving.
We cleaned up after ourselves and then watched movies while eating and eating. Kristen walked in around 8:00 while we were cleaning up.
"Hey, how was dinner, we had tacos," I told her.
"That's good," she replied.
"How was Trista?" I asked her.
"Fine, we hung out a bit, then it was 8 and I had to leave," she answered.
It was getting late and we finished our movie and went to bed. I trudged upstairs, I was so tired from today's events. I face planted into my bed and stayed there for a second. "LEVI!" I heard a yell from down the hall.
"WHAT!" I yelled back.
"Come here," I recognized the voice, it was Kristen. I wandered down the hall and her door was open. I slipped into her room
"What is it?" I asked her.
"I don't feel good will you stay with me?" she pleaded.
"Where's Anna?"
"She's in her room, downstairs," Kristen whined. She scooted closer to the wall.
"Let me get you a glass of water," I left the room and came back to see Kristen still against the wall.
"Here you go, what are you feeling. Are you going to faint?" I asked her. She shook her head 'no', still holding herself away from me. "Do you want to lie down?" I inquired. she shook her head 'no' again. "No, in that case just hold my hand and we'll wait till you feel better," I grabbed her hand and stroked her forehead.
"Thank you," she whispered, squeezing my hand.
I continued stroking her head until I saw her pass out. "Goodnight Kristen, Sweet dreams," I lifted her into her bed, kissed her cheek, and turned the lights off. I went back to my room and climbed under my covers.
"Levi, Levi?" I stirred awake
"What's wrong," I said seeing her hovering over my bed. I swung my legs over and sat up.
"I still don't feel good," she cried. Then I heard a thump and my vision cleared. Kristen was lying on the floor in a heap.
I turned her over to see her face and put her feet above her, on my bed, to get the blood flowing. She woke up with a start.
"Kristen, do you know what happened. Stay down on the ground," I told her.
"Did I pass out?" She asked.
"Yes, do you won't to go lay in your bed?" I asked her, stroking her forehead. She nodded her hand as I scooped her up and carried her to her room. She fell asleep in minutes and I went back to bed.
I laid there staring up at the ceiling. How does a 14 year old manage to deal with all of that? She is so strong, just like mom.
