Chapter 21

Trista's POV

I woke up feeling a bit dizzy and decided to lie back down. Once I was ready I waited outside for Kristen to arrive. After a few minutes, my phone rang. It was Emy.

"Hello?" I answered.

"I've been trying to get a hold of you guys. You and Kristen weren't at school and no one was answering my calls!" She yelled into the phone.

"Emy oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I had a doctor's appointment and it went downhill from there, I'll fill you in when we get there." I apologized

"It's okay, as long as you're okay. See you in a bit!"

"Bye," I hung up the phone and saw Kristen coming down the street.

"Kris!" I yelled and ran over to her. "How's Levi? Emy just called and we're going to have tell her when we get to school." I announced as we began walking.

"Levi is doing better, still pretty confused and sick but less pain today. I totally forgot that we needed to call Emy, I feel so bad," she realized.

"You feeling okay?" She asked me, staring into my eyes.

"Yes, I'm fine. Really it's nothing," I told her. I was hoping it wasn't anything serious. To be honest I was just as worried.

"It's not, not nothing!" She exclaimed.

As we walked into the building I stopped into the office and gave them my doctors note. The receptionist sighed and we went to class. As we sat down I looked her in the eyes. She looked exhausted, probably from taking care of Levi. "Spill!" Emy yelled as we sat down.

"I'll start," Kristen said looking at me and I mouthed 'Thanks.'
"Yesterday my brother had a panic attack, he hit his head and landed himself in the hospital with a pretty bad concussion. He's doing better but that's why I was gone yesterday." As she finished Emy looked over at me and signaled for me to start.

"As you know I had a doctors appointment yesterday, I sort of...Passed out. It was from low blood pressure. While I was in the hospital they noticed that my blood pressure stayed below normal and wanted to monitor my blood pressure for this week ." Once I finished I tapped my arm and showed them the blood pressure monitor. (I'm sick of typing blood pressure so I'm going to put BP instead. If you see that, that's what it means.)

"You two will literally be the death of me! You need to be careful. Giving me gray hairs and we're only 14!" Emy whined, hugged us and whispered "I'm glad your okay." We went on with class and soon it was time for lunch.

When we made it to the cafeteria, Will sat with us, as usual. I stood up to dump my tray and felt sudden dizziness.

Is this how Kristen feels all the time?

I sat back down and the feeling passed as I watched Emy swoon over Will.

Kristen's POV

I was exhausted, Levi kept me up all night. I care about him, really I do, I felt bad, he was constantly throwing up. I knew that not getting enough sleep would trigger my POTS, even when he was fine I was still worrying.

"I'm going to the bathroom," I announced excusing myself from the table. The dizziness was worsening as I walked towards the bathroom. I saw spots in my vision as I opened the stall. I barely made it to the ground before blacking out.

When I woke up, I was on the floor of the bathroom stall. I slowly got up and heard the door open. "Kris?" I heard someone call, Trista.

"In here," I hollered as I walked out of the stall.

"Class is starting soon..." She stopped, looked me up and down, then started talking again. "Did you faint?" She said looking at me. I shook my head and she rolled her eyes before leaving the bathroom.

The day went by quickly, I still felt exhausted. When I got home Anna had written a note saying she was at work and Levi was alone. She wrote this about 15 minutes ago so he wasn't alone to long.

I walked up to his room and knocked. "Levi? Can I come in?" I asked and I heard a gagging noise from in the room. I walked over to his bathroom to see him hovering over the toilet. "You okay?" I asked him flushing the toilet and wiping his face off.

He sat there for a moment staring of into the distance before he started crying. I knelt beside him, rubbing his back. "It's okay, you're okay," I said shushing him and wiping his tears. After he calmed down I helped him back to bed, turned of the lights, and sat beside his bed.

After texting my friends for a while, Levi's phone rang and I answered it for him. "Hello? This is Kristen." I said into the phone.

"Hi, is Levi there? It's Reagan," I heard through the phone.

"Levi took a fall and has a concussion. He is sleeping right now and is pretty out of it currently and probably will be for the next few days." I announced.

"Thanks for letting me know! I guess that means Saturday is off. Tell him to call me when he feels better. Bye," She said, hanging up. I stood up and put Levi's phone away. I began to feel lightheaded right as his alarm went off. Time to wake him up for his medicine.

I retrieved the medicine from the cabinet and woke him up. "Hmmm," He groaned as I passed him the medicine and water.

"Time to take your medicine Levi," I said sitting on the edge of his bed, waiting for the dizziness to pass.

When it didn't get better I moved to the floor. "Here," Levi said handing me his water glass. I stood up and dizziness washed over me. I walked downstairs and brought the glass to the kitchen.

The dizziness refused to pass and I stumbled, then fell into the kitchen sink. I glanced up at the clock, 4:30. Anna will be home in 15-30 minutes, I can make it. I couldn't make it, the overwhelming feeling finally went away as I faded into darkness.

HEY GUYS!!!

I set my alarm to a Taylor Swift song and it made me so hyped today, I don't know. I woke up at 6AM and read for like 30 minutes before getting ready for school.

I had auditions for the school musical today and I feel like I nailed it!
