Anna's POV
I finished my shift at the cafe and went on my way home. I stepped inside and heard silence, I immediately walked upstairs to Levi's room. I cracked the door and peered in, he was asleep. I walked down the hall and opened Kristen's door.
There was no one in there, I walked downstairs and hollered for her "Kristen?" There was a groan from the kitchen. I stepped into the kitchen and saw Kristen propped against the counter. I ran up to her side "Kris? Are you okay, what happened?" I asked stroking her forehead.
"Hmm," she groaned glancing down, I then realized she had broken glass pieces in her hand.
"What happened?" I said softly.
"Fainted... the cup...sink...break," I looked at her confused and then realized what she meant.
I grabbed a first aid kit and cleaned up the glass. "Are you okay? Does anything else hurt?" I asked her after applying bandages to her hands. She shook her head no and I helped her to her bedroom. Soon after I gave Levi his medicine and went to bed
Trista's POV
***
1 week laterI woke up feeling dizzy and laid back down, I had the appointment today. I would finally know what was wrong, I was scared and nervous. The fainting episodes weren't very often. Only 2-3 times every day. Obviously that's not normal, but it is what it is.
I got up slowly, took a shower, and prepared, mentally, for my appointment. "Ready to go?" My mother asked me. I glanced at the clock and then back to my mom.
"Already?"
She nodded and we made our way to the car.
When we arrived, the nurse called us back almost immediately. "Trista Greenn?" She called out and I followed her back to a room. I sat up on the bed and she looked through the blood pressure records from the past week.
"The doctor will be in soon," she said and then left the room.

After half an hour, more or less, the doctor walked into the room. "Hello, It's been a while hasn't it? If you remember I'm Doctor Walker," She said giving me a soft smile. Her hair was long and dark, her smile was soft and comforting. I relaxed when I saw her. My mother continued filling out the paperwork as we talked.
"After looking through your results for the week we have come to a conclusion." I stared at her waiting as she paused and flipped through her notes. "We believe, after reviewing your symptoms, that you have chronic low blood pressure, this can also be called hypotension."
"This can be permanent, but we can't really be sure. There are medications and changes to lifestyle that we are going to walk you through. This won't get rid of all symptoms but might limit any fainting spells."
"With the medicine you will still experience dizzy spells, fainting, fatigue, weakness, and other things as well. It won't eliminate all of the symptoms all at once either. You may feel fatigued and week one day and completely fine the next day. It depends on how your body reacts to the medicine."
"You will need to increase your salt intake, drink plenty of water, and instead of three meals a day, small more frequent meals. Try not to stand up to quickly because this can cause a drop in blood pressure. Another thing to avoid is hot environments, and try to exercise regularly."
She stopped and I took a moment to take it all in. "This sheet contains all the info you'll need, including the stuff I just mentioned."
"We will have you come back in for a check-up in about a month and see if the treatment is working. If not we will look into it again and see if there is something we missed," She said passing the paper to both me and my mother.
I was confused, shocked, and overwhelmed with emotions. I wasn't sure what to think.
I spaced out after that, catching every few things I needed to hear. I wanted someone to tell me how to feel. I just wanted everything to go back to normal.
I barely remember leaving, walking to the car, and going home. I was snapped out of it when we arrived back at the house.
I went inside and straight to my bedroom, my mom left to pick up my new prescription. As I sat on my bed, still lost in my thoughts about the diagnosis, my phone rang, jolting me back to the present.
"Hello?" I said into the phone, still lost in my thoughts.
"Hey, how did it go?" Kristen's familiar voice rang through the phone.
"Tris? Are you okay?" I took a breath
"Hmmm," I replied.
"Ok, what did the doctor say?" I could her voice but it felt distant. I heard a thump as my phone fell to the ground.
A surge of lightheadedness enveloped me, like a thick fog obscuring my thoughts. My heart raced, pounding against my chest as if desperately trying to break free. The room seemed to spin, blurring the edges of my vision.
Anxiety gripped me, its icy tendrils tightening around my chest, making it hard to breathe. With each passing second, the bed beneath me felt closer, its presence pressing against my face as if gravity had suddenly intensified. And then, everything went dark.
***
I woke up feeling groggy. My head ached and I felt weak, "Tris?" I heard a voice call as I opened my eyes.
"Hmmm," I groaned out in response.
"You awake?" the same voice called out. I opened my eyes slowly.
There was a blurry figure kneeled next to me, I rubbed my eyes and Kristen came into focus. "When...How?" I asked attempting to sit up but falling back.
It's never been this bad before.
"Your door was unlocked and I have a key either way. Are you okay?" She asked in a gentle voice.
Struggling once again to sit up, I felt Kristen's steady support behind me, offering a sense of stability. The throbbing pain in my head intensified, making it challenging to focus.
"Is something wrong, what happened?" I asked feeling confused.
"You fainted, but everything is okay. Your mom is on her way with your medicine. She told what happened, do you think you can stand?" She asked me.
Kristen supported my waist as I stood up carefully. My knees shook and I swayed on the wood floor. "Can we..." I began when a wave of nausea came over me. My head swam and I just wanted this all to end. I clutched my head and squeezed my eyes shut, trying to stop the pain and drown out the ringing.
"Trista! Are you okay? Please sit down," she said shocked and lead me to my bed. We sat in silence for a few minutes when there was a knock at my door.
"Trista, Kristen, I'm back," My mother announced coming in to my room.
She handed me a glass of water and 2 pills. I took the medicine before laying my head across her lap. "How're you taking this. Feeling okay?" My mother asked me squeezing my hand.
"I...I don't know," I said and she nodded.
"That's okay love, we'll get through this together."
I grew tired quickly and she pulled a blanket over me as I fell asleep. Kristen waved goodbye as my eyes closed and I drifted into a dreamless sleep.
