Me: hey Haruhi it turns out that Kaoru can't go. i kind of got this great idea and he ended up breaking his arm.

Haruhi: I'm so sorry (y/n) but I can't go. I'm super sick. Maybe next time? Hikaru can still go right?

Me: Yeah, he can... well, i hope u get to feeling better

Me: HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME ALONE WITH MY CRUSH? HOW COULD YOU?

Haruhi: Geesh (y/n)-san, calm down! You'll be fine!

You took a few calming breaths as you saw the familiar teen in the distance. The weight of the chocolates in your pocket was rooting you to the spot. You could feel your cheeks catch on fire and you desperately scrubbed at them with your hand.

You'll only make it worse!!! The voice inside your head cried out. Look, he's coming closer! Act natural!

You ran your hand through your hair and stared up at the sky. Fat, lumpy gray clouds were starting to patrol across the blue landscape. "You don't think it will rain, do you?" You voiced aloud to yourself.

"Probably not. It wasn't on the forecast, but you can never tell these days."

You jumped back in surprise. "Hikaru! Ah, sorry! I didn't see you!"

"Obviously!" He smirked. His hazel eyes were bright, but his hands were uneasily stuffed into his pockets. And every few seconds, doubt flickered across his face.

"Are... you okay?"

"Yeah," he huffed. "I'm fine! So are we going in or what?"
