Chapter Forty Six

"Alhamdulillah! Indeed we must thank Allah for sparing our lives to witness this day. Alhaji Muhammad I know you are tensed to your core and I believe you and your family are eager to know the reason for this meeting and without any further delay we will get into business but before then, please permit me to bring in two more persons in here." He asked looking at Alhaji Muhammad and he nodded.

"Please go ahead Baba." Baba Ali smiled saying thank you. Malam Hamza couldn't make it to the meeting on time as he was busy with some work but he assured Baba Ali that he will drop by as soon as he is done with what he is doing.

"Abbas can you please go get Sadeeq and Ibrahim?" Abbas was on his foot immediately, heading out straight to his car to get his partner and their liability for the past few days. The other day when Baba Ali, Malam Hamza and Alhaji Nabeel left Ibrahim in Abbas's and Sadeeq's care he really wished death upon his self because by the time Sadeeq came back from getting him food he was unconscious. Abbas made sure he gave him the worse beating and experience of his life. He punched him to the point of exhaustion, until he couldn't go any further himself. Ibrahim cried, begged and yelled for help but none came to him. After he was done with him, he untied him and they left him his food and a note that if he is lucky to wake up again then he can eat and take care of his self. Everyday they go to check up on him he shivers out of terror but Abbas didn't touch him again.

He knocked at the window of his car and Sadeeq wined it down.

"Hey how is it going in there?" Asked Sadeeq and Abbas sighed.

"Everyone is tensed, you can feel the tension feets before you walk into the room. Anyways what has to be done must be done so let's go. Ibrahim I hope you're ready to face your family again and let me warn you if you dare try to pull any stunt in there then you know the rest. So just do as you are told and you will be safe okay?" Abbas asked him with all seriousness and he nodded without a word. If there is anything Ibrahim dreads right now is not even facing everyone or anything but Abbas's mighty blows, no he doesn't like them because they are everything else but nice. They walked into the living room with Abbas in his front and Sadeeq behind him.

Maryam and her family all got on their heels, watching Ibrahim in horror. Alhaji Muhammad walked up to him holding him by his shoulders in utter shock.

"Ibrahim is this you? What happened to you?? Where on earth have you been? Do you know how worried we are because of your disappearance and what happened to your face and all these bruises?" Alhaji Muhammad kept questioning him while others watch in shock. From the very time Zarah saw Ibrahim and that too in his condition she knew what this meeting was all about. Shikenan yau karya ta kare! That's what she kept saying in her mind and in a matter of seconds she is drenched in sweat and completely out of her mind. She started looking for a defense resolution, how is she going to get herself out of this trouble now? Inna lillahi wa Inna ilaihi raji'un. She didn't even realize when everyone went back to their sitting position because she was still standing lost in her thoughts until her mother dragged her down with her hand. Everyone could already see and understand Zarah's condition.

"Alhaji Muhammad Zarah your daughter here and Ibrahim your nephew have been the main reason for whatever Maryam has been and is still going through with regards to her marriage." Baba Ali paused checking Alhaji Muhammad's confused expression.

"Let me elaborate, you see for some reason only known to Zarah, she doesn't like her sister Maryam and she was jealous of the kinds of suitors that Maryam always gets. I don't know the details or what's going on in her mind but I think she will be in a better position to explain that to you maybe later. Now I am sure that you are aware of Ibrahim's feelings towards your daughter Maryam sometime ago. But Maryam didn't reciprocate his feelings and that truly hurt his ego, it was the main reason that made him to leave this house back to his parents place. When Zarah found out about it she collaborated with Ibrahim to make Maryam's life miserable. Right from how Maryam's wedding with Muhammad was cancelled to chasing away many suitors from her up to this point where her wedding with Abdulrahman has been postponed they are all the reason behind it. I don't want to spend too much time explaining this because I have something to show you all if you would permit me."
