It is a bright and beautiful Saturday morning and Baba Ali's household was full of warmth and laughter. The house has always been like that but the presence of Abdulrahman's parents added to the lively ambiance. Since their arrival the day before Baba Ali insisted that they stay over at his house since they will just be there for two days. Even though the house is not that very modern but it does contain enough rooms to lodge in visitors as it has different sections ranging from the main house to the guests and boys quarters.
Abdulrahman joined them around 1pm after his quick visit to their main branch. He spent quality time with everyone before Baba Ali, Alhaji Nabeel and his father got ready to leave for Maryam's house.
"We have already discussed with your parents here and they have all approved for the wedding fatiha to take place in one month but that is if Maryam's parents agree and if they didn't then we will find a later suitable date and we will also pay the agreed upon dowry today itself." Baba Ali briefed Abdulrahman before they leave and Abdulrahman couldn't be any more happy and excited in fact if it's left to him he wouldn't mind getting married in one week but then one month is not that far too.
"Whatever you decide Baba, I have no problem at all Allah ya kaimu lafiya but I think I can pay my dowry there is no need for you to take the trouble."
"No that topic is not up for discussion, we are paying the dowry and that's it." Said his father with all seriousness and Abdulrahman can't argue any further.
"It's alright, whatever you deem fit. Allah ya saka da alkhairi."
"Ameen ya Allah! Gentlemen I think we should be going now, I have talked with Malam Hamza he said we will meet him there."
"Okay Baba after you." Said Alhaji Nabeel and with that they left. Firdaus wouldn't let Abdulrahman to know peace again because she kept teasing him while he fights back.
"Alhaji angon Maryam finally Allah ya yadda! But seriously tell me how are you feeling now? It's been a struggle brother." She asked smiling and he stared at her smiling back before looking away with a deep sigh.
"Honestly speaking I can't put my feelings into words right now but I for sure can say that I am happy, extremely happy, excited and delighted. You know that kind of feeling of finally getting what you have prayed so hard for, like you just watch your dream come into reality, that surreal feeling? Well that is what I am experiencing right now." He said with a grin and she chuckled.
"If you are feeling this way now then what will it be like when the wedding fatiha is over? Like when you will hear people saying an daura auren Maryam da Abdulrahman and all those kind of things you know." That question took him to a wonderland and he was seriously imagining what it will be like for him on that day but he could only come up with one word or two words perhaps as an answer.
"Blissful and blessed! That would be the words if I am to exactly define my feelings on that ver day." Firdaus smiled genuinely happy for her cousin.
"I am really happy for you Abdul, Allah ya kaimu ya nuna mana wannan rana lafiya." He smiled back grateful for her never ending support.
"Ameen my dear! And I am praying for you too. Allah ya kawo miji nagari musha biki, I will be your best man." He said with a grin and she laughs
"Best man indeed! It will be an absolute honor Alhaji."
"Don't call me that now in fact I am leaving!"
"Noo wait, I am sorry, someone cannot play with you again?" She asked standing on his way.
"You can but right now I got places I need to be so I will see you later."
"I was wondering if you can drop me at Maryam's then before going to wherever you want to." He was quiet looking at her face suspiciously.
