TWO YEARS LATER"There is no way I am letting you go with them. I mean look at yourself, you need to rest please. I don't want to argue about this." Abdulrahman said frankly to Maryam who is now five months pregnant. It's Firdaus and Abbas's wedding and she is insisting to go to Katsina for the conveyance of bride and Abdulrahman doesn't want her to obviously because she is pregnant.
"But baby it's not like we are going by car, you don't have to worry about me getting tired or anything besides I am seriously craving home, I just want to spend some time there please." He sighed now taking a seat beside her
"See I am not against you going home, if you want to go home you can always do that but why follow this stressful path. I know you are going to go there and work yourself out all in the name of a wedding." She was now quiet her eyes full with tears and he hates to see her that way but that's how she reacts lately and if he complains she says it's the pregnancy hormones.
"Fine! You can follow them but I am also coming with you." She gave him a shocked look
"What! No way, there is no way you will follow me there haka nan kawai, what will people say?" He laughs
"Bita zai zai koh mijin hajiya and either way I really don't care, it's either we go together or you stay till some other time."
"But you just said I can always go home when I like. Please my love let me go, I promise to take care of myself and I won't take any stress." He stares at her, trying to confirm what she said in her eyes
"Fine, how many days do you want to spend?"
"A week is fine my love." He sighed and then smiles, rubbing the side of her face.
"Okay then there you have it, you can go but I think by the fifth day I will join you to spend two days there to. then we can come back together. It's been a while I went there and I just realize how much I have missed Katsina." She hugged him saying thank you again and again.
"We leave tomorrow after the wedding fatiha so I will go pack my things now." She says excitedly and he smiled.
"Let me help you with that, c'mon now." She gave him a peck
"You know you are such a darling and I love you to the moon and back in fact to all the planets and back."
"Wow! That is definitely a really long way but then I love you more than that." She smiles holding his hand in hers as they go upstairs.
The bride was conveyed to her matrimonial house in katsina on Friday by her close family members and friends. Maryam was in full attendance of the wedding right from the events in Abuja to Katsina. Her friendship with Firdaus has grown stronger over the years and it's now more like a triangle with Raudah involved. She also joined them when they arrived in Katsina. After the wedding Maryam gets to spend time with her family and that's when she gets to know about Zarah and Ibrahim.
They said that Ibrahim is now a teacher in one islamiyya school and he hardly associates himself with people, it's either he is home or at school and nothing much. She was also told that the last time he came to their house some few months ago, small children were after him and making fun of him that waye yasha bulala, waye yayi abun kunya and so on.
As for Zarah, she still lives with their grandmother doing nothing with her life than house chores. She has tried going back to school but then she gets mocked by people and she dropped out again. Recently they heard that she wrote JAMB again as she wants to change her school. She always sends Friday messages to their parent seeking for forgiveness but she is still yet to be granted that.
"I think it's high time you forgive her Mama. I think she has seen enough consequences for her actions. I myself have already forgiven them Wallahi but I just can't forget, even though I pray that someday I get to forget too and move on from that. Please ku yafe mata kada ta mutu da fushin ku akan ta." Hajiya Binta sighed unbelievably looking at Maryam
