It's Maryam's and Abdulrahman's wedding week and all preparations are in full swing. All arriving guests, far and near have already made it to Katsina. The atmosphere in the bride's house was very cheerful and entertaining and Maryam was already getting tired from the stress because it's always from one thing to another, from dress fittings, to the spa, henna, saloon and the crazy list just goes on. The situation is not very different in Abuja as Abdulrahman's family too are all gathered to celebrate the occasion. As for the groom he has been in Katsina as he was trying to handover business to their new manager before he leaves. His friends and some of his family that are going to take the bride to her new home are coming in by Friday. Due to their busy schedule the soon to be couple hardly get anytime to talk unless in the night after their long day activities.
You can tell from the look of things that everyone is genuinely happy for Maryam. The wedding program is scheduled to start on Wednesday with a traditional henna party at Maryam's, then an all ladies event on Thursday which they called the mothers night and Friday is the traditional yinin biki while Saturday is the wedding fatiha and immediately after the that the bride will be conveyed to her matrimonial home in Abuja via a chartered flight. Some of the guests that are not aware of Zarah's misdeeds kept asking about her but Hajia Binta always find an excuse to dismiss the question.
As for Zarah she really wanted to see Maryam one last time before she leaves but she knows their house is far out of her reach now. She dare not go anywhere near there now if she doesn't want to cause herself further damage or embarrassment. She watches everyday as Hajiya Iya gets ready and leave without telling her a word about what's really happening at the wedding site that is their house.
M: You know you are suppose to come early so that we snap our pictures before the guests start arriving at the venue, right? Maryam was on the phone with Abdulrahman as she gets the final touches of her make up done
A: Yes I know I know your majesty and I am ready, I am just heading out now besides you know I don't like this photography thing I am just doing it for you.
M: Well I am sorry, it's not like I am dying to take pictures with you too but when everyone insisted how can I say no. They kept begging even if it is one or two shots just for their IG and WhatsApp stories
A: And by them you mean?
M: I mean the national association of the aww group my cousins, aunties and friends. He chuckled tracing the irritation in her voice
A: I think this whole wedding is just for them, so let's try and give them the best one. I will be there in 10 minutes inshaa Allah
M: Okay see you soon, bye
Abdulrahman made it to the makeup studio in exactly 10 minutes like he said, he was ushered in by Raudah as she leads the way into the beautiful studio. There he met one more friend of Maryam, Fatima, the photographer with his crew and the absolute love of his life. When she turned around he could swear his heat skipped not just a beat but so many. She looked like a dream, his dream. Is it because he has never seen her in a full blown makeup or the fact the she is dressed so breathtaking and gorgeous? He stared in awe and adoration while she smiles walking towards him.
"You need to stop staring now." She whispered close to his ear and he smiled.
"I can't! You are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my whole entire life. Maryam you look more than beautiful." She laughed getting the attention of others in the room
"You are also looking so dapper, dangerously handsome." They both chuckled
"Okay if you guys are done can we start already? The event is in an hour time and Mama has warned us not be late." Raudah interrupted their little conversation
