Haj. Amina followed her furious husband into his bedroom. She gave him a glass of water and sat down beside him. After some few minutes Alh. Abdallah has calmed down he looked at his wife with a pained expression.

"Hajiya yanzu haka yaron nan zaya yi mana? (Is this how this boy is gonna treat us?). I don't know whose evil eyes has caught us. Wallahi i don't know how to face Maryam's father, i don't know what to tell her family. I have clearly failed in my role as a father, a father who can't control his children neither their actions. I just can't let this marriage to be easily called off, this marriage is surely going to take place." Haj. Amina sighed and took a deep breath.

"Alhaji there is no doubt that Muhd has taken a wrong step and he has brought up so many troubles and problems along with his decision and we can still rectify it if we want too but...." Alh. Abdallah interrupted his wife.

"But what Hajiya? Are you saying that we should just sit down and watch this boy ruin our reputation..??" He asked surprised.

"No Alhaji that is not what i am saying, but he has clearly said that this girl will not be happy with him if we forced him into marriage with her. We can not afford to cause her any more trouble apart from which she is going through right now. We can save our reputation by getting them married but how can we save the poor girl from a depressed marriage life?" Muhd's father was quiet reasoning with what his wife has just said.

"I know it's too late to cancel the wedding now but she is going to suffer in this marriage and she will not get any pleasure from it because i know he meant his words. It's better to save her life now than ruin it with our hands. When a man shows no interest in sharing his life with a woman then it's better if she gives up because she is going to marry a stranger that she totally doesn't know or understand." Muhd's father nodded in agreement.

"I think you are right but what am i going to tell her father? And Muhd will think that he can just mess up things anytime and get away with it...?"

"No he is not getting away with it, we are surely going to punish him for his stupid decision so that next time he knows the gravity of his actions and as for Maryam's father you talk to him in a calm and gentle manner i am sure he will understand and also we will give them the options, if they or Maryam still want to go on with this wedding then so shall it be." Alh. Abdallah was convinced with his wife's statement.

"You are right i think this is the point where we say Allah yasa haka shine mafi alkhairi, may Allah change for them what is best for them especially Maryam."

"Ameen Alhaji." Haj. Amina answered. "Let me allow you to rest now till later and don't keep them waiting for your response for too long, okay?"

"Okay." Alhaji said nodding his head and taking off his cap while Haj. Amina left the room. He took his phone and dialed the number that he is now scared of calling but he has no choice.

Alh. Muhammad was checking his phone every two minutes to see if he has missed a call or a message while he is constantly zoning out but there is neither a message or a missed call for him from Alh. Abdallah. When he was just about to call Muhd's father, his call came in. He felt his heart racing and his head pounding, he swallowed a lump in his throat while he answered the call. He couldn't say anything but kept listening to Alh. Abdallah and at long last he finally spoke.

"Have you tried to make him open up, as in he would have told you why he took this decision." Maryam's father said and he was quiet again.

"No we can't do that. If he is not interested then we will not force him. I can't bear to see Maryam in any form of distress again after this one and especially not in a forced marriage." Alh. Muhammad replied Muhd's father in a disappointed tone.
