Maryam continued crying on the phone while Raudah patiently waited for her tears and sobs to subside. When she has finally calmed down and her eyes have run out of tears she cleared her throat.
"Sorry I just couldn't stop my tears ne that is why." Maryam said in a hush and disappointed tone and Raudah sighed heartbroken from her friend's voice.
"It's okay, I hope you are feeling much better now?" Raudah asked her not so sure of what she is going through right that moment.
"Yes I am feeling lighter and much better now, so how are you doing?"
"Like seriously Maryam? Are you asking me that?? I should be the one asking you that question right now but you know what baffles me even more is the way you were just crying few minutes ago and then few minutes later you will be acting all normal as if nothing happened. Don't do that to yourself please, don't run away from your troubles, face them because that is the only way you can defeat them and live a happy life i beg you. Now will you tell me what is the problem or do you need more lecture from me???"
Maryam waa quiet for a few seconds before she started talking. She told her friend everything that happened right from her argument with Zarah to her mother's words. Raudah was speechless and very hurt from what her friend just told her. She wasn't only speechless but also very upset with Zarah because she was the only reason that made Maryam's mother to utter such bitter words to her.
Raudah gathered her thoughts in one place while she sets to console her friend with the most calming and consoling words she ever knew.
"Maryam my love listen to me now, don't take Mama's words to heart she doesn't mean what she said. I know she said it out of anger or something but you know she is your mother and she will always wish you well. And this is the first time that she has ever talked to you in this manner so please don't blame her, let's give her benefits of the doubts maybe the pressure is too much on her and maybe just maybe people have been talking to her about you getting married and she is not letting you in any of it but you know it will definetely disturb her."
"So is that why she decided to rub it on my face that my younger ones are getting married before me leaving the house for me? Why would she put it that way and that too in Zarah's presence haba mana.... Is taunting me like this going to bring me a husband or what??" She started crying again.
"Maryam stop crying, listen to me. taunting you all the time is not the solution or option here but people will not just understand that and Mama's only fault here is that she said that to you in Zarah's presence. She should just have resolved your argument in a better way and later on she can call you and tell you whatever she wants to in private but by doing so while Zarah was there was just making Zarah to disrespect you more dama ya lafiyar giwa."
"And that is what hurts me the most, already we are not on good terms with Zarah and now Mama has added to it."
"No don't worry yourself I will have my mother to talk to Mama inshaa Allah this will not happen again. Just don't let it bother you please and don't keep a grudge with anyone, okay? And again keep praying, remember that the prophet SAW has said that du'a is the weapon of a believer so don't ever drop your weapon, keep striving inshaa Allah wata rana sai labari kinjo ko Maryama??"
"Yes inshaa Allah. I feel so good and much better now Alhamdulillah. Thank you so much Raudah, you are a life saver. I don't know what my life would have been without, I love you."
"I know right and your life would still have been perfect even without me because Allah would have sent you an angel to always guide you and be there for you and I love you too babe." Raudah said smiling.
"Thanks, let me go and pray a nafil prayer maybe I will feel even more better."
"Of course you will inshaa Allah. Go talk to your Rabb, He listens and will always be at your reach. We will talk later, take care."
