CH 33 Climbing The Big MT

"Nya~ Is it okay to leave that woman?", Pollie questioned. "It's better than being there for her to scold.", Edgar answered Pollie's question. "Why are you even with us Ed?", Mazi wondered. "Well, we're friends aren't we? After last night, I felt we just became best friends til the very end!"

Mazi gave a 'tsk' and said, "I thought you agreed to leave Ruka alone when you lost." Edgar gave a laugh out loud and snickered, "I know, but I've already moved on. So it's okay~" Mazi gave a glare and remained silent.

Edgar place an arm on my shoulder. "We're still friends aren't we Ruka?"

I sighed, "Sure..."

I was still confused over the 'fight' that Mazi and Edgar brawled for. I remembered that the winner would have me... What does that even mean? As a friend? Or something more? When Mazi is with me, he acts as if nothing happen or nothing new is going to be between us. It was going to be the same as always, as friends. Was I really okay with being just friends?

"Dono, are you still okay from yesterday? You looked spaced out.", Hiroto, my pet dragon asked with concern. I sighed, "I'm alright Hiroto. Just thinking about certain things."

"Ruka? Who are you talking to?", Edgar asked. I forgot that Edgar didn't know that I could hear dragons. "Oh, you see I have a pet dragon. It seems that if people have pet dragons, they can hear other dragons, including our own.", I explained. "Wow! That's so cool! I want to have one myself!", Edgar exclaimed. Then Edgar faced Mazi and asked, "Yo, Mazi do you have a dragon?"

Mazi only returned a glare at Edgar and a brushed it off with a laugh.

I've never saw Mazi glaring at someone for so long, he must really hate Edgar...

"I'll take that as a no.", Edgar chuckled. Then a wild Ricky popped out of the shadows. "Edgar? Right? Don't you have some kind of acting business?"

"Oh crap! You're right!!", Edgar exclaimed and removed his arm off of me and started running the way we came from. "I'll see you all someday!!", Edgar shouted as he became farther away.

Ricky then place all of her weight onto her arm and sat it on Mazi's shoulder. "You're welcome.", Ricky smirked. Mazi blushed and glanced the other direction. I giggled at the sight and pulled out the DKO map.

"Which way senpai?", Jean asked. "Well, since Frostbite won't let us in. We are... Going hiking on mountains until we find the troll's territory. After that we will have to face the two dragons present in the forest."

"Hiking!!", Izzy exclaimed.

A message was suddenly sent to the guild, it was from Zai.

Zai: Sup, where are you guys at?

Izzy: We're going on a hiking trip!

Ruka: Now you wonder where we are?

Ricky: Aw~! Are you worried about your little sister Zai-kun~?

Zai: NO.

Zai: I was wondering if Drogo confess-

I closed out of my messenger to the guild and went to slap Drogo in the back of his head.

Jean: It's over 9000!!!!!!!

Mazi: Is this all we're going to do today? Or are we going to start hiking up the mountain to the troll's territory?

Ruka: Mazi's right. Everybody get off of this spamming messenger...

Zai: Peace out sis. Stay safe! I don't want to see you dying on me again!

Ruka: ...

Zai: What?

Ricky: Awww~!!

"Race you Izzy and Pollie!! Whoever wins gets to do whatever the winner says!!", Jean shouted as he took off in the direction of the mountains, followed by Izzy and Pollie.

We hiked up hills, crawled out of pits, and ended up at a dead end stoned wall, blocking our path.

"This is were we would use these puppies.", Drogo said as he took out two pairs of grappling hooks.

I face my teammates and assembled a plan. "Me and Mazi are going up first! Once we reach the top we will hold onto the ropes to make sure you'll all climb safely! If we happen to fall while climbing-Drogo and Ricky will catch us! Understood?" They all agreed and started to get into position.

I wrapped myself in the rope of the grappling hook, Mazi also did so to himself. We both gave each other a nod and threw the hook as high as we can. We made sure the hook secured itself in the mountain and started placing foot by foot, up the mountain we go.

The two of us were pretty good at climbing. We would often look at each other's spot in the mountain and laugh about how high and fast we were or how slow we were. Mazi's speed fasten quite a bit, he is a man after all. I tried to pick up my pace to catch up to him.

We were both half way up to where our grappling hooks landed and no cheering was to be heard from then on.

I grabbed on a rock to hoist myself up but suddenly saw a pair of golden eyes in my vision. The catlike golden eyes took over my vision for a split second, and I lost my balance on the mountain.
