CH 1 Split

"I'm home."

The silence remains as I walk inside my house. I just came home from a mini comic store. My mom is in her room like always, her door is barely open but I can see the humid and sorrow in the room and my brother is probably in his room as well. As I walk past my brother's room I said hi to him and walked on. As usual, my brother is playing Dim Knights Online. I can't understand the fact that he could still play video games after what had happened two years ago. I can never forget it.

I went into my room, threw my bag on the floor, fell on the bed, and took a quick nap.

The nap pass by and I've woken up at 6:49 pm. I still have some time to surf the web. I turned on my computer, as it starts up I check to see if my online friend, Izma, has texted me. The screen showed one new message, I opened it. I stared at the text.

"Hey Ruka, I know your not into gaming anymore but I wanted to play with you one more mmorpg to end the summer? You know? :D?

I text back, "Ok I'll play but what do you want to play?" I waited a few minutes and a text popped up.ext

"Hrmmm... (￣Д￣)ﾉ How about Dim Knights Online? We made accounts for it right? ( ' ▽ ' )ﾉ

Dim Knights... I remembered that I was known as 'The Slayer' but it was never true. People took the title a little too far, it made me stop playing. People then thought that someone killed me in real life when I stopped going online.

Another text from Izma, "Oh wait but you've stopped right? Sorry we'll play another game then. How about... Alfhiem Online? We've never tried it before so why not? (・ω・)ノ New fresh start?"

I thought about it for a sec but I remembered that Izma liked playing Dims Knight Online, so I didn't want her to be disappointed.

"^ - ^ Nawh it's ok we can play Dims Knight Online, it's almost the end of summer after all. And I guess I could try playing it again."

A text popped up. "Really?! ！(◎_◎;) You serious right now or what?!? Wait, is this April fool's day? Hold on gotta go check my calender... ∑(ﾟДﾟ) Oh wait! It's summer break!!! Ha! Ha! Yay! ♪───Ｏ（≧∇≦）Ｏ────♪ Wait, are you serious? Is it ok? Are you sure? I don't want you to be forced by me... (>_<)"

"Yeah, I'm quite sure. Don't worry about it. :) Now let's get on DKO!"

My computer turned on and has finished loading. I took the mouse and dragged it to the web browser. I searched up Dims Knight Online. I clicked the website and hesitated to enter my username and password. I thought about making a new account before, maybe I should, because people would probably freak out if 'The Slayer' came back. So, I started to make my new account.

Before I realized it, it was already 7:20. My mom has probably made dinner by now. I grabbed my phone to tell Izma that I have to go eat dinner. I placed down my phone and walked out the door. When I was out my phone vibrated.

"Kk! (￣▽￣) By the way, I've just made a new account I wondered if you did too... I've made another one since well... I was known as 'Bloody Mary' when you left... (^_^;) I just got carried away... I didn't like the thought of people putting rumors on you. So I started to kill people... online... (-_-) It just got worse... Sorry... (╥﹏╥) I'll be more careful next time..."

In the kitchen, my mom already made food and had set them on the table. My mom just sat in her chair and told me to go get my brother. I did as I was told.

We were all at the dinner table. We've never talked about what has been happening in our daily lives so we didn't know much about each other. It was quite sad. Then suddenly, mom spoke.

"Zai, Ruka. I have some news... I have to be away for a while."

Startled Zai said, "What?! Where?"

"I don't have much time left. So I've been talking to this doctor. He told me such kind words of helpfulness. Even though we've never met in person, I... I think I've fallen for him and I want to be with him..."

"Shut up!!", Zai shouted. "Have you ever thought about your children's feelings?! After dad's and Ayu's you've never talked to us ever since!! And now your leaving them behind to some rich guy?!"

Mom sighed, " I want you to come with, but we don't have the money..."

"Why can't you just tell him to come here then!?"

Once again Mom sighed, "He has a family too..."

"So your saying you're going to steal this woman's husband away from her isn't it?"

Mom nodded, "It'll be a good idea, trust me..."

"No it won't! Have you ever thought about that doctor's children?! What if they tend to hate you for kicking the wife out?!"

"I... don't care...", Mom hesitated. "As long as you two are living!! Then it will be fine!! I just want you two to be happy... Hic..."

While tearing up I finally spoke, "Mom... Its not a good idea. We won't be happy if you take the children's happiness..."

Mom suddenly stood up, she walked to the oven, opened the kitchen drawer, and pulled out a knife. Being shocked at the sharp object Zai ran to mom and grabbed the hand holding the knife.

"Mom let go!!", Zai shouted.

"No!! I need to kill myself!! You'd be happier like this right?!"

Mom and Zai were struggling back and fourth. I needed to act. I started to help my bro pulling the knife out of my mom's hand.

In a split second, Zai and I were both cut on the cheek with the knife mom was swinging around. It was a small cut though, but mom freaked out. Mom dropped the knife and ran to her room. There was a loud slam. Both me and my brother were cut but not deeply. Zai said he was going to clean up so I should head to my room.

I took a shower and flopped right on the bed remembering that Izma was waiting for me on Dim Knights Online. It was 11:48 pm. I sat up and went to my computer and logged in.

12 o'clock rang, and a bright light shines out of my computer! The next thing I knew I blacked out.
