If only she knew. I thought. Back at the house, I was seconds away from telling Noah how I really felt. Chloe had just the worst timing in the world. I told her about my crush on Noah in seventh grade and NOW is the time she decides to bring it up. And now it was all I could even think about. 

Fuck! Why doesn't your brain work sometimes Carter? Honestly with her parents missing and just after realizing that we're destined to kill an evil asshole who couldn't stay asleep! Why did you even think that she would care with everything that happened?! I scolded myself.

Lost in my thoughts, I tripped on the sidewalk, falling flat on my face with my ass in the air.

I swore loudly getting a few dirty looks from the neighbors. 

Only a few houses away from home, I broke into a jog and soon reached my front yard. I went inside and found the place empty, as usual.
Mom and dad were probably too busy with their fuck-ass million dollar tourist company to pay attention to their son. They were always on one trip or another at another town or State, entertaining tourists. If not, they were always on the phone with tourists, booking several hotels and sites and calling agents. I didn't really mind being alone actually. I still loved my parents but since they were never home, I was normally alone at home. I had my older brother Derek but he's rarely home now. He is two years older than me and had liver cancer. It stressed everyone out, most of all him. He had panic attacks from time to time which is why he had tranquilizer pills. He's cured now, but he doesn't even live here anymore.

I went to my room and flopped down on my bed feeling depressed. My brain hurt, still trying to process all the information. I felt like I was in a dream. I just needed to wake up. 

My brain was still trying to process everything that happened. All of a sudden, my phone buzzed. An intsa message from Chloe. Of course. 

Sighing, I stood up and connected my phone to my tab. The holographic screen appeared, displaying the speech bubble, where Chloe had sent me a not so nice message. 

Chloe <3: what the literal fuck ryan?!!!!

Ryan: why the sudden swearing??? top points :)

Chloe <3 : stfu!! i saw u with noah that time n all u did was stutter!!!! 

Chloe <3 : ik u still like her! wot's the hold up?!!!! TELL HER!!! wat the heck is wrong with u??!

Ryan: Hmmmmm......u went from fck 2 heck......we need 2 work on dat

Chloe <3: FY

Ryan: atta girl!! :))

Chloe <3: THATS NOT THE POINT RYAN! U OBVI HAVE FEELINGS FOR NOAH!!! U GOTTA TELL HER

Ryan: with everything that happened i find it very doubtful that she will care....

Chloe <3: r u insane?!!! ofc she will care!! just tell her already!!!

Ryan: why r u even bringing dis up now??? timing hon, u need to work on dat

Chloe <3: don't call me hon >:<< 

Chloe <3: so u gon tell noah abt ur feelings or not?? i really think u should

Ryan: uhhhhh well when u say it like that.......
