"I was the one who brought her and James to the human world."

I stared at her. Behind me, everyone stayed silent. It took me some time to speak again.

"You were Princess Amaya's maid? You were the one who took her to the barrier between the two worlds?"

The deamon cackled, seeing that she hit a nerve. She nodded gleefully.

"Impossible! No deamon can live for that long!" snapped Silver. I stared at her.

"Silver, aren't you immortal?" I asked confused. She sighed.

"I am, but only because I joined Lady Artemis and her Huntresses. Normally a deamon can only live up to five hundred human years. Its been millenniums." she glowered at the lady who was now cackling and laughing. In the other cells, the other deamons grinned too.

"How is possible that you are still alive?" I asked her.

"Why, because of the Dark Lord." crooned the deamon, laughing. "We knew of Princess Amaya's plan to leave for the human world long before he rose. That pathetic princess wanted to follow in her sister's footsteps and leave, leaving her other sister alone. Queen Diana was left all alone to fix her mistakes!" she spat.

"What do you mean?"

"We despised human. We always have, we always will. Long before, when we deamons visited the human world, instead of welcoming us with open arms as we would have, they hunted us."  the deamon was no longer laughing. She was now snarling and spitting in my direction as she retold the story in rage, red blotches appearing on her pale skin. "They called us demons. They chased us. They killed our kind! And to see two of our princess leave our world for them..." she started to raise her voice.

"Never again! When the Dark Lord rose, and he slayed his incompetent mother, Princess Amaya had no choice but to delay her plans of leaving and fight along side the Queen to banish him. We ourselves neglected him at first. He did have human blood running in his veins. But when we learned he had as much hatred towards humans as we did, we joined his side at once. He made us a part of his army, he made us immortal! The Princess didn't know of course. To her, we were still her trustworthy maids. Once our master was banished, we kept a close eye on Princess Amaya. In the human world. We stayed close to her, to her children. After she died, we kept an eye on her descendants." her eyes glinted with mirth as she uttered the next sentence. "We even kept and eye on you, Noemi Walkers, is it?"

I choked on my own saliva. My eyes widened. My mind wandered briefly back to my previous journeys. The shadows I saw in the Amazon forest in Brazil, the glint of light in the fairy village, the mole in the organization. There's no way its her.

"I do admit I underestimated you Chosen Ones. Never would I have thought you to be strong enough to vanquish the echoes in that village." she cackled.

Yeah its her.

"You were the mole in the organization, weren't you?" I breathed. She let out an unhuman snort.

"I have nothing to do with that pathetic organization of yours. If there truly is a mole, then it is not me. But I congratulate whomever it is." she started smiling again.

"You said you kept an eye on Amaya's descendants. You've been watching me since I was born?"  I clenched my teeth, balling up my fists.

She laughed. "My dear, I even held you in my arms when you had taken your first breath in this world."

Blood drained entirely from my face. My knees started to shake. "What?" I breathed. She started lauging hysterically when she saw the face I was making. The very thought of this woman holding me, made me sick for some reason. Before I even knew what I was doing, I had stabbed my hands in between the bars, holding her by the neck. I was seething.
