Still Mark pov
We were running like crazy through the airport, shoving past strangers, tearing through the hallways like mad-men. We passed the airport's giant fountain, the indoor garden and the beautiful glass dome. Too bad we couldn't enjoy it. The dark spirit was following us calmly, taking its time, knowing it had us trapped. We wove through the huge airport, ducking in the crowd, hoping we could blend in. I looked behind and it continued following us, no matter how much we tried to hide. It could sense us. Almost crashing into a wall, I stumbled as I struggled to catch up with the others.
"Our plane to Nepal! It's in terminal one! We need to take the sky train to the terminal!" choked Raven. We shoved past a throng of people, ignoring the angry yells as we made them drop their suitcases. The doors to the sky train opened up and we rushed inside, ducking down. The doors closed with a beep, and the train started moving. Panting and wheezing, we looked around the train and sighed in relief when we didn't see the cloaked figure.
"Think we lost him?" wheezed Chloe.
"Yeah, I think so." I rasped. Sighing, I sat down and looked out the train's windows. Then did a double take. "Uhhh...mates? We didn't lose that guy..."
"WHAT?!" Everyone crowded around me, and we looked out the window. There, following us on the tracks, melting in and out of the shadows was the dark spirit, protected by the sunlight with its cloak, following the train calmly. The train crawled to a stop and we tore out, shoving past more strangers. That thing could sense us. There was too many of us in one place.
I suddenly grabbed Raven's arm and ducked into an electronics shop. She yelped.
"What the hell are you doing? The others.." She choked as the spirit passed us and followed our new friends.
"We need to warn Noah."
"And the others? That thing is following them and they're not even aware we're separated." She was about to run out after them before I pulled her back.
"Look, the guardians went out to patrol the airport. Silver is with the others and Luna and Celeste are watching out for Noah. Silver is too weak to fight that thing alone and the others don't have the right powers to fight a shadow. If we warn Noah, Luna and Celeste can get them here quick and we can either beat this thing or escape it."
"We don't even know where Noah is! Come on, they're in danger! We need to do something!" She tried to squirm away.
"Raven! Will you please stop being bullheaded for a minute and listen! You go find Noah. I will try to distract that thing and buy the others time."
"Are you insane? That is by far the stupidest plan in the world."
"Do you have anything better?"
She grumbled. "If we die I'm blaming you."
I grinned. "Start with the roof. you'll find them easily."
She kissed my cheek and ran off. I shook my head. There was something I had to do. I ran as fast as I could. I glanced up at the glass ceiling. People crowded around me as they rushed to find their gate numbers. Up front in the departure hall, was tall glass ceiling. Then suddenly, I saw a shadow running on the roof. Noah, and the others. I ran even faster, ignoring the shouting people and the burning in my legs.
I finally broke through the jostling crowd and saw Chloe and the others running. The cloaked spirit right behind them. I felt my heart beat like crazy. I ran and ran. I wasn't going to make it. Fear for the others, fear for Raven, took over. My eyesight sharpened and I felt my feet slowly rise off the ground. I shot across the building even faster than before. I was still too far. I shot a blast of air at the spirit. It worked. The cloak fell off. The dark spirit shrieked and screamed at the sudden light. It writhed and clawed at the holes burning in it's body. It grabbed the cloak and threw it on, once again sheltered by the light. All of a sudden, everything became dark.
