Jason pov
I had a singed arm, a burnt hand and no knives. Fuck my life.
I was stupid enough to throw every single one of my knives instead of just keeping a few aside and was running around the boat trying not to get infected by a horde of dead eyed, moony, zombie spirits.
A gnome's dog lunged at me, and I blasted it with wind, pushing it away towards the explosions Noah was causing. I lost Indigo in the fight. I need to find my cousin fast. Concentrating harder, fear fueling me, a crackle of electricity shot out of my right hand and I managed to take down three spirits. I ran around the deck of the boat, ducking five deamons, two elves and a gnome, almost falling into a hole in the deck of the boat.
I shoved my burnt right hand inside my armpit, groaning at the pain. My heart hammered in fear, the words, don't die, don't die, don't die, don't die...constantly vibrating in my brain. My left arm stung, where a fairy with fire wings singed me, my right hand was throbbing from all the pain and I kept falling flat on my face. I grit my teeth and threw a magnetic bomb at the spirits running towards me. The bomb used its magnetic field, creating a huge source of energy and it imploded, sending the elves flying. I staggered around, trying to look for Indigo, choking at the smoke all the fire and destruction was causing. There was a constant ringing in my ears, the only sound other than that was my heartbeat.
"JASON!" Screamed Charlie, shoving me aside as a gnome lunged at me with his thorned sword. He tossed a thermal sphere at it and the gnome shrieked as the instantly heated sphere clung to its skin and burned it. He tossed another one at it.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING DUDE?"
"Where's Indigo?" I demanded.
"WHAT?"
"Where's Indigo?!" I snapped.
"If I knew I would have been fighting with her! Her fire's strong." He snapped back. He saw the gnome rip the two thermal spears off its skin, ripping away some flesh as well. "Look. I'll deal with this garden ornament. You find her."
"Wha...." I started.
"WILL YOU GO ALREADY?" He growled as the gnome lunged at him with its sword. Half of the flesh on its skin was ripped off, showing parts of its muscles, dark black blood on his face and boils all over. Charlie calmly grabbed a gun strapped on his belt and shot the gnome, sidestepping his opponent. As the gnome staggered, roaring in pain from all the bullets, Charlie unhooked his golden crucifix from his belt and it extended into his sword. Facing him, Charlie charged at the gnome, sword raised, teeth gnashed.
I turned away and kicked an elf coming at me. No cracks on her face so she wasn't infected. I blasted her with a gust of wind and tossed her overboard and ducked as another fire-winged fairy shot a ball of flames at me. I charged at him, as he ran at me. I balled my fist and punched his face. The fairy shot another series of fire balls, singeing parts of my torso. I roared in pain and shoved him aside, blasting him with more wind. The fairy grinned, clearly trying to take advantage of my injured state and shot more flames at me. I ducked away, trying not to get caught up in the chaos around. Suddenly something flashed above me. Quickly I dived to the side, hitting my head on the gunwale of the ship.
Where I was standing a few seconds ago, now stood an infected.... something. The spirit had apparently jumped down from the crow's nest, hoping to either land on top of me and rip me to shreds or infect me. It looked human enough on the outside. No wings, no pointy ears, no horns, no fangs or claws. The black cracks on his face stood out against his paper white skin, long and jagged on his cheeks. He snarled at me, foam and black steam spewing out of his mouth, black eyes glaring at me, holding a sharp jagged, stone dagger.
