Jake pov - One week Later
I made the water rise above the ground and concentrated harder. There was a clinking sound and the water crystalized in the air, hardening to ice. The shard shot through the air. Ryan blasted it with fire and it melted instantly. I made the water fly back towards me. Idiot.
Something flickered in the corner of my eye. I jumped away right on time. I staggered up. A huge rock was on the exact spot where I was standing moments ago. Charlie grinned. I grinned back and aimed another ice shard straight at him. He made a rock wall rise and my spike shattered against the stone. He laughed as the wall melted back into the earth. I glanced behind me for a second. Noah was busy with Ryan. Good.
A stone smashed into my stomach. I was thrown back as the weight pushed me. I grunted and aimed a blast of water at Charlie.
"Never loose sight of your opponent!" Called Aelius from the side of the arena.
Charlie grinned. "You let your guard down for a fraction of a second. That's enough for me you know."
"Yeah, yeah, I know mister 'I'm a swordfighter'. Now we going to fight or not?" I aimed another blast of water at him. This time he couldn't dodge away in time. The water threw him back in turn.
He stood up dripping wet. He made a wall of stone surround him as I made hundreds of pieces of ice rain down on him. His stone room sunk back in the ground as the last remains of ice shattered harmlessly on his wall. He raised his arm and earth shot towards me. I tried to do what he did and made a wall of ice. The ice cracked and broke as the earth rammed against my shield. Still it held.
A rock shattered the barrier and slammed against my stomach for the second time.
"Sorry!" Yelled Charlie gleefully.
I cracked a smile despite the pain. "Not bad for a kid stuck in a sixteen year old's body."
He laughed. "We'll see if I'm still a kid when I'm done with this fight."

"Our team totally won." Boasted Ryan proudly.
"Say that to your partner who lost to me." I smirked.
"I still won against Noah." He grinned. Noah rolled her eyes.
"Couple fights. So cute." I muttered, just loud enough for him to hear.
He glared hard at me. I smirked and went back to my food. We were all sitting at the cafeteria table together along with our parents. Raven was staying as far away as possible from her parents, mom and dad were happily chatting with Elli, the twins and Ryan were having a conversation with their own parents and Noah, Indigo, Jason were engrossed in their own conversations. I leaned back on my chair.
"So how's training so far?" Dad questioned.
"Okay." I muttered. Dad frowned but didn't say anything. He brushed his blond hair aside and turned towards Elli who was talking with my mother.
"Babe we need to go. The elders want us to get this over with as soon as possible. We need to get the weapons ready."
Mom nodded reluctantly. She stood up and brushed her blond hair aside. She smiled at Elli and pecked her on the cheek. Mom turned to me and kissed me on the cheek too.
"I'll be back in a while okay?" She whispered.
I nodded. I felt like something was squeezing my heart and before even I knew what I was doing, I shot up to my feet and wrapped her in a hug. She jumped, startled but hugged me back.
