Noah pov
I was about to meet one of my most favorite goddesses in the world and that was the last thing on my mind right now. The thought of Ryan was lingering in my brain, Ryan holding me when I woke up, how he held me when I almost fainted and how warm I felt in his arms. I reddened in shock. What is happening to me?
Don't get me wrong, meeting one of my mot favorite goddesses of all times was super exciting and terrifying. Plus, we're meeting a goddess! I mean, come on.
Melany led us through a dense forest on the mountain. After about a half hour walk, we emerged in a large clearing where a huge number of women stood waiting. The Hunt was even more intimidating than I had imagined. All the women wore a silver or white tunic, crown of wreaths on their heads and all of them carried bows and arrows. Some were women, others were young teenage girls, each of them, looking deadly and beautiful at the same time. They stood around a tall woman. Up close, Lady Artemis looked even more beautiful and dangerous than her paintings and statues. She wore a plain white, knee length tunic and roman style sandals. A gray cape was draped over her shoulders, a crescent pendant hung around her neck and a silver crown of wreaths was placed on her head. Her dark hair and grey eyes made her even more intimidating as she looked at us calmly. A quiver full of arrows hung loosely on her shoulder and she was holding her long bow which honestly did not calm my nerves.
Melany bowed down. We all followed her example. Melany stood up and walked up to Artemis's side. She smirked. I resisted the urge to slap one of the Huntresses. Ryan was right. She was a bitch.
"My Lady..." Luna started.
Lady Artemis silenced her with a wave of her hand. She looked at each and everyone of us. For a second, I swear I felt her gaze lingering on me before looking away. She stopped at Indigo.
"Indigo Columns. The bow that you carry. Show it to me." Her voice was like nothing I ever heard before.
Indigo obeyed and took out the metal capsule from her bag. It unfolded into her long majestic bow. The huntresses all gasped as they saw this.
"Indigo, where did you get such a weapon?" Asked the goddess calmly.
"Noah's house." She replied honestly.
Artemis's eyes shot to me. She returned her gaze to Indigo.
"That bow belonged to a Huntress. One Huntress in particular." Her grey eyes filled with sadness before she regained her calm emotionless face. "Callisto."
Another gasp from the Huntresses.
"Oh...I...I'm sorry. I didn't know." Fumbled Indigo nervously.
Artemis smiled. "Do not apologize child. I gave this bow to Callisto when she first joined the hunt. After the incident with my father..." She stopped to glare up at the sky. "I gave this bow to Noemi's mother to keep it safe. I am glad that someone can finally put it to use, instead of letting such a fine bow get dusty and useless. A fine choice. You knew this didn't you Argentine?"
"Yes, my Lady." Said Silver.
"Very well." Artemis's gaze drifted to me again. "I suppose you children are wondering why I called you here."
"Yes, you could say that." Muttered Ryan. I elbowed him. Artemis graciously ignored him.
"Tenebris is not just any dark soul. We have plenty of those. He is a dangerous half breed, with unimaginable power. When he tried to take over both the worlds, he made an attempt on our lives. Us gods were not powerful enough to vanquish him. He had gained his powers from the darkest of magic relics, sucking in powers from other spirits and even tried to drain our life force to make himself more and more powerful. He made himself a god."
