ETHERION REALM

-Ered Village-
At Ered Village, both Lee and Leonard are bathed in the crimson-red blood of the Dark Magi. The neat and peaceful village has turned into a battlefield, with monsters as their opponents. An earful of clashing sounds from metallic weapons was combined with the screams and cries of these warriors. They do not fight for their lives; they fight for the future of their kingdom.

Most of their warriors were receiving medical attention from the medical staff as the mages cast spells nonstop to ward off the Dark Magi. They were protecting the injured and, at the same time, enhancing the capabilities of the fighters. Such heavy work that requires a lot of stamina.

The medical team also practices magic of healing. Their hands were glowing a blue and green light as they put them on or above the harmed body. They were groaning in pain and hissing as they cried. However, again, they were doing this for their people—for the sake of their safety—and for the safety of their loved ones.

Lee wiped off the dirt on his lips using his forearm, which also wields his sword. Meanwhile, Leonard brushed his long, tied hair to the back, breathing heavily. The twins were both sweating as blood drops from their skin.

"Hah... How many are they?" Lee asked himself, counting the countless numbers of the incoming foes.

"Father said to look for the core," Leonard prepared a stance for an incoming Dark Magi in the form of a lion. It almost slashed at his face, but he darted quickly to the side and sliced its head. To make sure that it was killed completely, Lee raised his other hand while holding two fingers. He may not look like it, but Lee was an expert as a young mage. After a gentle blow, fire was released

Flash!

Lee happened to learn the ways of magic rather than the art of the sword. Unlike Leonard, his skills in swordfighting excel more than his magical capabilities.

The Dark Magi burned under the blue light of the flames. As flames engulfed the Dark Magi, the twin moved forth to fight incoming foes.

'Core? Mmm...' Lee wondered, recalling the contents of the scroll.

"To Lee,

I am fully aware that you will read this word for word. However, I will make this short;

( 1 ) As you and Leonard fight against the Dark Magi, tag my men along with you. I will only take Leal with me back to the palace. There is something I must do first that will help us win this.

( 2 ) Look for the core. The core is something that provides energy to massive numbers of attacking Dark Magi. It could be inside a cave, under the ground, or within the water's surface.

( 3 ) Retreat if you must.

Please remain safe.

"There's... no cave here," Leonard shouted with a grunt, swinging his steel blade that had dark purple glows. His face was splattered with red liquid where he wiped it out, preventing the disgusting smell to stick on his skin.  "But there's a spring..."

A Dark Magi with the appearance of a half boar and half eagle flew above Leonard's head. His swift senses immediately slashed him to pieces.

Swang!
