CURVES AND LINES

---*---
IMPERIUM REALM

-Training Camp-
The lonely moon hid tonight without the twinkling stars pasted on the dark skies. Owls seemed to have quieted down as the crickets disappeared—only the howls of the wind, without a wolf to lead. Like silent nightmare within the dreams of a child.

The Young Imperium Scholar received a letter secretly inside her personal tent as the odd wind kept hitting the covers of her shelter. Documents were pile one after another as it was placed on a table, messily looking and bothersome to many. There were books for research and notebooks for her personal derivation. Miri wore her scholar's uniform, a sleek yet dark fabric. Her slender frame slowly had emphasis for she have not eaten for days, rushing to crack the definition of the twisted prophecy.

Scratch.

Once she read the contents of the letter, she immediately washed herself and grabbed a quick meal before meeting with the Princess Consort of Tahomma. Upon being at haste, she saw her reflection on a shattered piece of mirror, a tired adult.

Miri then, noticed a missing piece that was always around her neck. She used to wear the unfinished carved wood of a leaf as a necklace in the hopes of meeting that person again. But now, she doubt that it will not happen.

Her fingers touched her neck, slowly rubbing while reminiscing her past—somehow regretting a few. She wanted to keep it even in terms of facing death. Though, Lady Kaira insisted that she would solve the problem about removing the dark traces of magic, Miri knew it was never possible in the first place. Even until then, she could not comprehend herself.

Perhaps she realized that her days were counted close that she subconsciously react childish.

Sigh.

She left, feeling hopeless in belief of finding the owner of the unfinished piece. Miri took a few binded papers and a pen, disappearing to area of scattered papers and splattered inks.

Meanwhile, Kaira attempted to perform a spell that will dispute the dark magic. She promised that she will solve the problem but in the first place, she knew that it's unlikely to happen. Maybe, Kaira knew what's circling in Miri's mind that she wanted to help somehow. Yet, how can a futile princess help another when she could not even tend herself?

Mmm...

Coincidentally, Leonard was having his late night jog when he caught a glimpse of the struggles of Kaira. He already knew what's going on, noticing her suspicious acts every now and then, still, he chose not to talk about it. Knowing that she could be hiding about something, he approached her while hiding his presence so it was not a surprise why Kaira didn't notice him.

Psss...

From her cupped hands, she opened it and shouted, "Release!" unfortunately, like the couple of attempts she made, the result was still the same. The dark magic remained on the piece that made Kaira blew a deep breath from .

Ow...

"I knew you were hiding something," Leonard spoke that caused Kaira to jump off her seat, landing on a wolf-like stance. "Wow, impressive," clapped Leonard with a teasing tone.

Kaira, not knowing what to do, once again heaved air and explained what happened between her and Miri. She had no choice now that she's been caught. If she lied, she could already imagine Leonard's glaring eyes.

"The night you disappeared?" Leonard hummed, recalling the sequence of events. He also realized about the voice that Kaira heard. Even the Gate Keepers of the Realms interfered with the courses of events which could mean that there will be a greater cause.
