CHAPTER EIGHT
SONG OF A MAYA VILLAGER---*---
ETHERION REALM
-Maya Village-
Mariah Miri, a young-looking woman from the Maya Village, was picking up a flower that was lying next to a tree. She plucked the flower and had a sniff, smiling at it with silent giggles. Miri made sure that she did not take the roots from it for planting another flower was difficult for her. She's not an expert in planting, after all. As she placed it in her basket, she felt the ground tremble.Vvvrrr...
"Ground shake?" She wondered, staring at the sky. The clouds were neither gray nor black, and the atmosphere seemed peaceful, but why would the ground shake?
It was only a matter of time when she noticed a trail of moving dust passing her, making her eyes close and her forearm blocking her face. Miri coughed up the particles of dust she inhaled and eventually got angry. Her cheeks bloated out, creating a "HMMM!" sound.
"What on earth is going on?" She coughed, patting off the dust on her sleeve. Miri checked her basket, feeling relieved that the herbs she had collected were not ruined.
While she turned to face the direction of their village, a familiar figure came in front of her.
"Miri?" The voice reached her, and she was happy to hear it after days. Her heart fluttered with excitement upon seeing his tall figure that she beamed a smile.
"Ah, Young Prince Leonard! I knew you'd come around," she kept her blossoming aura as she felt a familiar energy. However, that energy was more powerful than the one she knew. 'Huh?' Her puzzling face was slowly printed out as her lips pursed to the side. How could an energy as unique as a nucleic cell be doubled? 'Twins, perhaps?'
"Leo~" Lee again interrupted his younger twin's conversation with someone. Leonard's eye twitched in annoyance that Miri noticed it. She giggled as she turned away, not wanting Leonard to think that she was insulting him. "Father needs... Oh?" He wore a sideways smirk, feeling entertained by Leonard's actions. "And who is this?"
He looked at Miri and observed her reaction. It was starting to pique his interest.
"Eh..."
Lee walked towards his younger twin. When he had reached him, he placed his elbow on Leonard's shoulder, glancing at the puzzled Miri.
Dazed...
"Two... Young Prince Leonard?" sweat broke out of her tensed skin, seeing two men towering her.
"No, my older rather," clarified Leonard, using his palm to push Lee out of his way.
"Mmm... Interesting," Lee muttered, rubbing his chin. He watched his brother's movement before looking at Miri. Seeing her facial features and physique, he glared at his younger twin. 'Who is this girl anyway?'
'If she could hear you, she'll be offended.'
'Huh? What's wrong though?' Lee was dumbfounded by such statement. After ticks of seconds, Lee got what Leonard meant and kept an inner snicker.
"Young Highnesses!" the loud voice of Leal echoed through the woods. He must have noticed that the two Young Princes had disappeared without their notice. Now that they've realized they were not to be seen, these people were panicking.
Leonard breathes, scratching his head before taking a step. Lee stayed for awhile and smiled at Miri. Of course, she got confused about why he would smile like that.
