CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO
LEVIATHAN AND DAHRLEEN

ETHERION REALM

-Tahomma Kingdom-
/a flashback/
Lady Dahrleen, in the meantime, will be staying in the annex building of the Tahomma Palace. It was smaller in size compared to the main halls, yet there was still elegance in the interior design. Although the exterior seemed simple, it was a pleasant sight because of its symmetry.

After the Lady had answered the Prince's (Prince Leviath Simon Santos) questions brilliantly with her dull expression and neutral tone that hid her agony. He was satisfied with her resolution and had thought that she's the perfect bride for his son, if not only for her lifeless eyes.

As the maids unpacked her clothes, she stared at the wide open window, letting strands of her hair float as pain in her heart kept flashing before her. A gentle touch of the wind does not sooth her frozen heart, perhaps she's earlier than the winter season itself.

The breeze of the wind caressed her cheeks, hoping her melancholy will soon pass as spring blossomed in her freezing heart.

A week had passed, and the scenery was all white. The skies were a hue of gray as fog covers the mountains' heads. Maid on the line were gathered as they think of a way to at least uplift the Lady's mood.

Perhaps a warm bath will make Lady Dahrleen feel at ease, they wondered. Knowing that Young Prince Leviathan stopped at her room's door to check her condition, the maids were starting to feel uneasy about the Lady in the room. What if she actually committed suicide?

"How's the lady?" he asked the guards on the post. However, without the trailing eyes of the others, Young Prince Leviathan still kept the seeing the Lady Dahrleen.

They bowed their heads as a greeting, then proceeded to report Lady Dahrleen's condition. As expected, she had a heavy heart.

Day after day, the Young Prince thought of showering the lady with presents that she will hopefully enjoy.

'I'm hoping that she'll recover,' a faint smile was drew on his lips as he left a bouquet of roses on the Lady's bed while she's taking her warm bath. Staring upon the empty windows and the terrain of white snow, the Young Prince lowly hummed.
/end of flashback/

"Where's the winter season?" the Princess Consort Dahrleen asked as she walked out onto her room's balcony to check the weather. She thought that there was something happening within the Assher Kingdom that made the King and Queen forget their roles. The Tahomma King and Queen were the dream and reality of the empire. The other kingdom rulers also had their perspective titles and duties for the sake of the Empire's stability. Actually, the Assher King and Queen were the weather and season of the empire. With that reasoning, she immediately contacted Queen Antonia using the crystal ball, a device for communication.

"Greetings upon the Luna of Tahomma Kingdom," she did the similar bow she showed last time, but at the moment, she felt uncomfortable with her own body. The Queen quickly grasped the condition that she did not tease Dahrleen for having an awkward bow.

"Yes, dear?" her motherly voice overshadowed her strict tone, gazing at her apprentice's complexion.

"My Queen, the season has not shifted yet," Dahrleen explained as the hints of worries were present. The Queen already knew about this, so she nodded.

Hesitating to state another word, the Queen quietly hummed back. "Well... There are rumors circling the Imperium Realm that the Queen and the King of Assher Kingdom are filing for divorce."

Gasp!

"Oh, heavens!" Dahrleen exclaimed a gasp, hitting the table with one hand as the other was placed on her hip.

The Queen held her chin, thinking about what could be the root of the Empire's problem, "However, a rumor is still a rumor," she pressed the closed fan on her lips, shifting her eyes to the side before slowly moving it back. "Whether that claim happened to be true, it's not an excuse to neglect their duties."
