CHAPTER THIRTEEN
THE OTHER SIDE---*---
ETHERION REALM-Ered Village-
A carrier pigeon flew above the roofs of the Ered Villagers. Around its claw, a rolled sheet of paper with the seal of the Royal Family was tied around it. Soon, this pigeon dove into an open window and landed on Kaira's arm as she was waiting for it. Her arm was already lifted before it could even land, assuming that the pigeon was for her. Her other hand gently untied the ribbon and let it fly back to its owner once she got the letter. It was a personal letter written by the Prince of their kingdom with the blessing of the current King, Prince Leviathan's father. She noticed the neat writing and admired the fine ink on the sheet. Above that, the paper used was quite expensive.
"It arrived," her father said as he walked towards her, grabbing the letter from her hand. Eureka's grin got wider and wider as he read the contents. He rolled it back and chuckled, which sent creepy vibes to Kaira. "Pack your luggage. We'll visit the Tahomma Kingdom."
Kaira could not help but groan internally. She had to keep herself calm, or her father would get mad at her again. Kaira's arms had bandages around them. It was noticeable in their village but no one seemed to point it out. However, they appeared to be worried about her.
She obediently bowed her head, then proceeded to go into her room to pack her belongings, including a short knife. Kaira made sure it was well hidden since her father would confiscate it. Or, in a worse case, he'll burn it.
"Here..." the voice of Lee flashed to her memories. Soon, she had his face in her vision as he gave her the short knife that was forged by Leal's son, who was only thirty years old.
"What is this?" Kaira asked while she took it without hesitation. This happened when they were inside the hut when Kaira was injured by the Dark Magi. It was the same date when Lee learned about Kaira's so-called curse.
"It is to protect yourself."
"Carrying a big sword is a hindrance, am I correct?"
"Then... You can carry this around. I am not sure why they won't let you wield a weapon, but this should be small enough to hide, right?"
Kaira wrapped it carefully and placed it under her clothes, subconsciously smiling. Her father noticed her smiling lips and thought that she was excited to see the Second Young Prince. Well, Kaira was not excited to see anyone, especially the Young Prince Leonard. As long as she's out of the arranged marriage contract, she will be happy. Although she knew that was unlikely to happen, she still had hopes for it.
A black carriage was already waiting outside their village. It was a luxurious vehicle that had two polished horses pulling it. A crest of the Royal Family was carved out of the front door, which was painted a gold color.
"Greetings, I was sent by His Highness, Prince Leviathan Silvester Santos, as your guide and your coachman." This man politely introduced himself as his left forearm was behind him. To make an elegant bow, he placed his right arm below his abdomen and slightly bent forward. "I am Drake Hamilton, from the Clan of Swordsmiths."
"Oh, I see! So we're distant relatives then!" laughed Eureka, slapping the shoulder of this polite man. "No need to be formal, ey!"
Drake Hamilton kept his nerves cool by blowing a cold sigh. "With all due respect, I am an official member of the Shield Force."
"And so?"
He glared at the arrogant Village Chief as he brushed his hand against his shoulder. This made Eureka's hand move as his body quivered.
