CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE
THE COMMON FOE---*---
ETHERION REALM-the battlefield-
The twins' eyes were widened to the wave of Dark Magi they could see charging forward. All of those creatures had hideous looks that they both wanted this to be the last wave of the long running battle.Ugh.
If history was bound to repeat itself, then they would do their best to prevent such events. However, what their eyes perceived was something more shocking that both of them stared at each other to reconfirm it.
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" they simultaneously asked which only proved that none of them were seeing things.
A man walking without a rush marched with pride as his chin was lifted and arms neatly moving. His long, white hair that brushed on the crimson grounds, gnashing his sharp teeth as his eyes threw daggers at the twins.
Lee activitied a protective barrier, making a loud colliding sound that alarmed the resting warriors in their camp.
Bang!
Boom!
They quickly dispatched out while they carried their weapons with them. They instantly formed columns as each row had their perspective tasks.
Hah!
"I'm... not done crying," grumbled Kaira with a short hiccup, transforming herself to her wolf-like form. Her pupils glowed red for a second as her canine tooth grow. Soon, her claws sharpened, releasing a howl from her lungs. "You dare interrupt my mourning!"
Shiver.
"Geez... she's really scary," a warrior on the front lines in Kaira's group commented as his nerves jerked up. The rest near him agreed by wiping non-existent sweat on their foreheads.
As soon as Lee's protective barrier deactivated, the warrior mages threw fireballs from the backlines as the combat warriors slash the limbs of the Dark Magi they fought with.
No one had noticed the man that appeared to be leading the horde of the Dark Magi, it was only the Tahomma twins that had the similar suspicion. And to clear that thought in their alike heads, they confronted the man with different attacking styles.
Lee opened both of his palms as he concentrate a percentage of his energy, forming a ball of lightning to electrocute the familiar man. On the other hand, Leonard brought his sword out without inducing aura. He attacked with pure strength and will, knowing that his blade will pierce through the flesh of this man. If only their hunch was correct, their combined attacks would be lethal.
However, this man single-handedly blocked the twin's attack by merely flaring his eyes wide open. Then again, looking close at this man was somewhat different from the man they know. Dark purple aura surronded him as if he was under the influence of their common enemy, the King of the Dark Magi.
Argh!
Hiss...
The twin's fell back, wishing for the man in front of them to wake up under the dark influence. They had never expected him to be driven with a curse as for he was a powerful man that arose with authority amongst all clans. As much as he was blinded by greed, he took care for his reputation more.
Such a twisted fate.
A smirk grew wide on his pale face as if blood was no longer present under his skin. His eyes didn't even blinked for a second, another indication that's he's not in himself.
