CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE
THE GREAT EMPEROR

---*---
IMPERIUM REALM

-Sagitharium Palace-
The Great Emperor opened his eyes, lifting his upper body while placing his hand on his face as he mumbled the name of the woman he loved, "Yukiko..."

Groan.

He wondered his eyes around the room, only to realize that it was only a fragment of his memories with her. A human living in Etherion Realm or Imperium Realm can live up to their two hundred. But Empress Consort Yukiko couldn't handle the extreme heat during a famine that she had passed through in her 150s. It was still impressive for a human to live that long, but for the Guardians, she died young.

The Great Emperor, a strong man who had protected the kingdom from hunger but couldn't even save his own wife, received a fatal blow to his mental health. He became a cranky man with some bloodlust.

In his foul mood, no one can approach him. Those who defy him will face death. And those who speak ill of him will no longer have tongues to stick to.

Knock.

"Your Majesty..." a servant knocked outside his room with a trembling voice. He's been doing this job for years, but he's still not used to his sharp gaze.

"Enter." His voice reached the servant's spine, wanting to quit his endless job. When the servant entered the Emperor's chamber, he made a polite bow before reporting an incident.

"Your Majesty, an unfortunate prince had a curse to fight," he said without a specific name for that Prince. The Emperor raised his eyebrow to demand the Prince's name. But when he heard that, he growled in anger that he had skipped breakfast and rushed to the chambers of his son, the current King Leviath.

-Cumulian Palace-
As King Leviath leisurely put on clothes to prepare for his meeting with the other rulers, his eyes wend rounded by surprise by his uninvited guest.

Ka-boom!

Through the windows of his room, the Emperor flew in, which caused the glasses to break. Tables and decorations in Leviath's room fell to the floor as some were broken. Instead of feeling delight at seeing his father or angry at ruining his room, his complexion went pallid pale upon seeing his own father.

"F-Father?" He immediately lowered his stance with a ninety-degree bow, hiding his sweating face.

"Where's your son?" the Emperor flicked his eyes around to scan the area—his red eyes were flaring at the moment. He did find out that there's a trace of Leviathan's energy somewhere in the palace but he was unsure where he was hiding. When his mind went completely blank in rage, he could barely use his head.

As an old-looking man, his wrinkles gradually disappeared as he looked younger. But she is not that young-looking to be classified as a teen. His hair remained long and tied high, thinning as it reached his knees. "I repeat, where is your son?"

His voice was such a threat in the palace that the servants immediately cowered under the tables. The Queen Consort, who was on the other side of the palace, rushed to the room where Leviath was preparing. The doors flew open as her mouth went agape, seeing her father-in-law in the flesh with his eyes glaring at them.

Before Queen Consort Antonia could react and point to a different room, the Emperor moved towards the door to where Antonia was standing. Seeing the Emperor approaching her with speed, she dared to block his path. Unfortunately for her, the Emperor vanished and will eventually teleport into the chambers of Leviathan.

The King, being half-human, didn't possess magical abilities, which was why he relied on his wife in terms of tricks.

Grab.

"Hurry!" she shouted, grabbing her husband's hand as they vanished at the point. They landed in front of the Emperor, who had his hand raised, preparing to release a sword of aura.

Antonia then lifted her hands as her palm went wide open, releasing an invisible force that would push the Emperor out of the way. Then again, the Emperor was someone who was labeled as a powerful man of the empire. A petty trick like that would not make him budge a move. Instead, his rage was only fueled.

"You dare defy me?" His voice was deep, and his gaze appeared to look down on their abilities. They were so tensed to his eyes that they couldn't help but gulp even their sweat while standing on a fighting stance.

Tsk

The Emperor could only scoff at their actions. All he could do was widen his eyes and activate a spell that would command the wind, and they would tumble into their own guts.

As the wind aggressively pushed Leviath, he flew over and hit a cabinet. His impact caused the cabinet to fall on his back. But, before it could break his bones, Leviath showed his wings and wrecked the wooden cabinet in half. He still had a Guardian's blood flowing deep in his veins, and somehow he inherited the wide wings of his father, the terrifying Emperor. Of course, it would be useless if he did not fight back.

"I apologize, Your Majesty." The Queen Consort tried to jab the Emperor's stomach by showing her sharp claws infused with her aura. However, the Emperor blocked her attack by only grabbing her wrist.

'Uh-oh...'

With just a flick of his fingers, Antonia was sent up the ceiling. The Emperor used another spell to freeze the two as they attempted to ambush him again.

Antonia lay flat on the floor as her shoulders trembled, trying to get a grip on herself. Meanwhile, Leviath's frozen pose might lead him to have an awkward posture afterwards.

The couple had no chance of winning. It was already obvious from the start, but they wanted to save their son. No matter how he had grown into a man, they were still his parents.

"FATHER! PLEASE!" yelled King Leviath, trying to break free from the trick applied to him. As he moved a muscle, he felt like he was being squeezed until his bones cracked. "FATHER!" this grown man cried as he shouted for the Emperor's attention.

Full bloodlust was scattered around the room that they could barely breathe, crimson bathed. He lifted his hand, creating a sword as he concentrated his energy into a certain shape. "He is no longer my grandson."

Clench.
