Tea

(L's pov)

I stared at the steaming cup of coffee in front of me. I'm thirsty, and looking for something with a lot of sugar, but it is a rather hot night, and I'm not really interested in drinking something that will only make me feel more hot and uncomfortable. I am close to the point where I'd even drink water, and I hate drinking water.

I looked up as a light draws my attention to one of the monitors. It's pretty late, so I didn't expect anyone to be awake, so I'm curious to see what (First Name) is doing in her kitchen. I see a pitcher of some dark liquid inside, and I see her measuring out a rather large dose of sugar.

Interest peaked, I head to her floor. She looks surprised as she lets me in and I ask her what she was making. She laughs and explains that she was making her favorite sweet iced tea for tomorrow. We walk into her kitchen where she returns to her work and motions over to the fridge.

"I still have some tea left from today if you want it. With how much sugar is in it, you should be able to drink it." I nod and pour a little bit into a cup to try it. There's no point wasting it if it isn't sweet enough.

It was actually amazing. Just as sweet as the tea I drink when my tea is hot. Normally I don't drink iced tea, but if it tastes like this, I just might drink it on a regular basis.

She laughed when she saw my face light up and grabs another pitcher to fill with hot water.

"How do you make this?" I ask, wanting to know so I can make it myself.

"Well, after filling the pitcher up, a little less than 3/4 of the way to the top, I put in 4 teabags of my favorite black tea and let it steep for a good five or so minutes, or at least until it's a dark amber or a little darker. Remove the bags, squeezing any leftover flavor into the pitcher, and add 402 grams** of sugar. Shake and chill for four hours. The wait sucks, which is why I make it at night. It'll be ready when I get up in the morning. With you though, I'll have to make more than one." She smiled as I watched her.

"I could help you, maybe even make it when you are busy or asleep so you don't have to do it every night. Especially since I'll be drinking my fair share."

She laughs and agrees with my offer.

If it gets me a sweet drink and makes her laugh like that, I'll make the tea every day for the rest of my life.

**AN: I have no idea if I have this right because the metric system really makes no sense to me, but it is supposed to equate to 2 cups of granulated sugar (unpacked) in U.S.measurement. If this is wrong please let me know so I can correct it. Thank you.

This is how I actually make my tea every other day (I drink a lot of it lol)

If you want to make it:

1. Hot water (filled up to about two inches below the top (will overflow if you use all the sugar I do it you don't keep the empty space at the top)

2. Four regular size teabags (or two large) favorite black tea (I use Lipton, but you can use what ever Black tea you like, I don't know how this will go for green or lemon tea) steep to your desire, I usually go 5 minutes to 10 minutes.

3. Remove teabags (squeeze into tea) add sugar to taste (I use 2 cups US measurement or whatever the metric equivalent is)

4. Stir or shake whichever you prefer (I do both depending my mood) Chill for at least 4 hours

Let me know if you've tried it!
