You had been having a strange dream lately. A dream that you felt was urging you to go somewhere.
You had told your boyfriend, L that these dreams were occurring. You left out where the dreams were leading you to. You didn't want to worry him.
It was something that happened to you before. You would be helping your boyfriend with a case, and would have a series of dreams where you would walk a certain path. These dreams would occur every time you slept.
After having several of these dreams, you would follow the dream and walk the shown path. You would always end the trip with a very important clue to whatever case you and L were working on.
You both felt this was once again the case. You were in Japan, working on the Kira Case.
L had been pretty depressed lately. He knew who Kira was, but had no evidence. The suspect, Chief Yagami's son, was under 24 hour surveillance. Along with the teens' girlfriend, Misa Amane. Chief Yagami also asked to be locked up, for his own safety.
L perked up when you brought up the dreams. This might just be the evidence he had been hoping for. With the parting words of "Be careful Sweetheart", you left the hotel.
Unlike your other dreams, this trip was a little bit further away from the hotel you were staying in.
In most of your dreams, you would just walk to the location. In only a couple of cases, you were required to take a car partway.
The current dreams in question began with you getting off of a bus. You had a bus map in your hands, and looked down at it. It told you what bus you needed, and the drop off location, which is where you would be in the beginning of the dream.
You would look up to see the road you needed. You would walk the path that leads to some desolate looking woods. Then you would walk into the woods.
When you woke up from your most recent dream, you wrote down the information you needed to get onto the correct bus.
You followed these instructions, and you finally ended up at the bus stop where your dreams would start.
You followed the dreams path, leading you into the woods. You took a mental note on just how creepy the woods felt.
There was something very unsettling about these woods. Something you couldn't shake off.
You continued on, needing to know what your dreams wanted to show you.
You had no idea how long you were walking, but you eventually made it to the oddly familiar clearing.
Your dreams would always stop once you reached that very clearing. You looked around, wondering what to do next.
Your dreams would never tell you what you were looking for, but normally the clues in question were very obvious.
An example was during one of the kidnapping cases you and L had taken on a few years ago.
It had begun as a simple kidnapping that would uncover a child smuggling ring. The suspects would kidnap young children, many no older than four or five. Then they would take the children to an 'orphanage' to be put up for adoption to wealthy families.
L had been able to lead local officers to the fake orphanage, where many of the most recent kidnapped victims were discovered, thankfully unharmed.
The clues they needed were the documents on the so-called adoptions and records for all the other missing children.
Your dreams began just after the discovery of the orphanage building. The dream led you to an underground parking garage for a bus/subway station. The subway station had a locker room where people could purchase a locker to store belongings while travelling. Your dreams told you what station and floor you needed, as well as the locker in question.
You gave the information to the officers, and they had discovered a duffel bag in the locker. A duffel bag that held all of the missing documents.
On a different case your dreams led you to the hideout of the suspects, and yet a different set of dreams led officers to some missing women.
This time was different, though. There was nothing particular in this clearing. It wasn't a building with a basement or a series of lockers. It was just a clearing surrounded by trees.
You wandered around the clearing, trying to find the missing link. Why would your dreams lead you here? After several minutes of wandering around, you noticed it.
There, at the base of one of the trees, was a little patch of dirt. It looked relatively newly dug. Not more than a few months old.
Who would have come this far into the woods to bury something? The bit of dirt was too small to be one of Kira's victims.
You had to assume this clearing had something to do with the Kira Case. Since all of your previous dreams had something to do with the case you were on.
So what would be buried here that had anything to do with Kira? It was too small to be a victim. All of Kira's known or suspected victims were adults. Too big to fit in such a small area. Plus it seemed odd that Kira would bother to bury a victim.
So what would be here?
You shrugged at that thought, and decided to just dig. A minute later you had a box in your hands.
Inside the box was a piece of letter with Misa'a name on it. as well as a notebook.
You took the notebook by the corners, holding it the same way L holds things, taking a look at it.
The words Death Note were written on the front in English.
You were startled when you heard a strange laugh coming from somewhere close by.
You thought you were alone in the woods. But are you really?
You quickly laid the book back into the box, and grabbed the large evidence bag you brought for this excursion. You stuck the bag into your backpack. Wanting to leave quickly.
The less time you spent in these creepy woods, the better you would feel.
You made your way back to the hotel, and left the bag in your hotel room to go through once the men left.
That evening, Watari handled watching the Yagami men and Misa.
L followed you into your hotel room, where you explained everything to him. You told him about the dreams leading you to the woods and finished off with the creepy laugh you thought you heard.
With gloves on, he went through the notebook, while you read through the letter.
"This confirms Light is Kira, and that Misa Amane is the second Kira." You told him after reading the letter.
"Oh?" He asked as he looked up. You read from the letter.
"Do you remember my friend at To-Oh University? He went by the name Hideki Ryuga. I want you to write his real name in the notebook and kill him, then burn this letter right away."
Light wanted Misa to kill you, then he continues to give her instructions. He wanted her to rip out some pages and rebury the book. The next time she sees him; she was to casually touch him with one of the pieces. He promises to love her if she does this."
"Emotional manipulation?" He thinks out loud, and you can tell he is making plans.
"Looks like it."
(Next Day)Now that you have the evidence showing Light Yagami had been Kira, you now had enough proof to search his room.
Inside his room you and L discovered the envelope that Raye Penbar had with him on the train.
L also discovered Naomi Misora's Japanese driver's license, and a trap he set in his desk drawer.
Inside the locked drawer, there was a false bottom. There was a hole on the underside of the drawer. After looking around, L realized that the best thing to use to open the bottom were the inkwells inside the pens that Light had on his desk.
"It's inconspicuous, and easy to access. Nobody would have ever noticed it." He explained.
You had everything we needed to prove that Light was Kira.
"We have solved the case. Kira is finished." L announced to the taskforce once you all returned.
You could see Light's angry face as L revealed all of the evidence he had.
It was finally over.
