It has been two months since we moved into the new building, and nothing unusual has happened in the case.

I have yet to retrieve the death note in the woods. L wants to wait until we get closer to discovering the whereabouts of the new Kira.

We have just gotten a lead in the case. Well, Light was the one who found it. He discovered a new trend in stocks. It seems that prominent companies have been losing stocks and business after their CEOs have all died of heart attacks. The sole company not being hit is Yotsuba. In fact, they appear to be benefiting from the deaths.

A short while after this new piece of evidence, Chief Yagami and Mogi returned from a meeting with Director Kitamura.

We have been issued an ultimatum. Kira has bribed the NPA, as long as the police leave him alone, he won't go after politicians.

We can abandon the investgation and maintain our jobs as police officers, or work with L to capture Kira and lose our jobs.

L and Chief Yagami argue over whether we should all leave or not, until L agrees it's our personal decisions.

Even before L entered the conversation, I had already made my choice.

I'm not leaving my boyfriend to do this on his own. Even if all of the others choose to leave, I will stay.

I said as much, to Ryuzaki and the rest of the taskforce.

In the end Aizawa was the only one who left. It wasn't long after this discussion that everyone else left the monitor room.

Light was seeing Misa in her suite, hoping to shut her up on wanting a date. He even knew that L would be watching and listening to everything.

Mogi, Matsuda, and Mr. Yagami went to their floors to write up their resignation letters.

I told L that I already had one written up, just in case it was needed.

"I wrote it up after we had officially begun dating. I knew that if we got together, I'd want us to stay together, and that means travelling with you. I'll take it to Kitamura in the morning."

"While you're out tomorrow, could you retrieve the notebook?" I nodded.

Two days later, Mr. Yagami noted something significant.

All of the deaths of people that would be beneficial to Yotsuba occurred on the weekends.

Mogi, Mr. Yagami and I began going over all of the employees, while Light and L looked over all of the victims of this new Kira.

A couple of days later, Matsuda had left with Misa to film her new movie. The rest of us were looking into the Yotsuba employees to make a list of people who would satisfy the criteria to either be Kira or have contact with him.

Watari's voice came over L's computer to let him know that Yotsuba is trying to contact Eraldo Coil; the second greatest detective; to find L.

My boyfriend told us that he was Coil and Deneuve; the third greatest detective. He used these other aliases to protect his identity.

As we reviewed the papers, L introduced us to a couple of people he had brought onto the taskforce. One was a suave con man named Aiber, and the other was a stealthy thief named Wedy. She reminded me of a less classy Catwoman, without the whip.

He had hired Aiber to play the role of Coil and to give Yotsuba misleading information. Wedy was needed to break into their primary headquarters to hook up wiretaps and surveillance cameras.

Ironically, L had just been advising us not to take matters into our own hands when Watari's voice once again sounded from L's speakers.

Matsuda has just been caught sneaking around Yotsuba. L called him, masking his voice and using coded messages to ask if he was in trouble.

Light got a hold of Misa, and L used her to start up a plan to fake kill Matsuda before Kira could do it.

After that, Wedy utilized the information Matsuda had about the secret meeting to bug their meeting room.

A week later we were listening to the now seven men, make plans to assassinate people.

Light got a hold of one of the men, Namikawa, and persuaded him to delay the deaths, giving us more time to figure out who Kira is.

However, we couldn't completely agree on a method to capture Kira, so we began working on our own plans. L and Light ended up with his idea. Light was stuck with L because we are still suspicious of him, therefore the detective won't let Light out of his side.

The other men, wanted to apprehend Kira without having to wait for innocent people to die. While I hated this mess, I stayed with my former co-workers. I am with my boyfriend on this, but I don't want Light to be suspicious.

That night, L and I were finally able to go over the notebook I retrieved. We hadn't been able to analyse it before because with everything going on recently, we were constantly around other people, or addressing new problems.

The letter in the notebook was enough evidence to convince a judge that Misa was being manipulated. It should be enough to save L. That is as long as Misa's Shinigami doesn't care about what happens to Light once he is apprehended.

L's plan was for Misa to gain access to the company through the advertisement campaign Matsuda had set up when he was caught eavesdropping on their meeting.

I was acting as her manager in hopes of getting to Misa's Shinigami.

When we were going over the notebook, we learned that the human who picked it up was now the owner. Hopefully, the Shinigami would detect me the same way Misa first found Light.

While I waited for Misa to conclude her interview, I felt something graze my hand. I looked up and saw the Shinigami. It motioned for me to follow, leading me to the women's bathroom.

"You have found the other Death Note. Why are you with Misa?" It asked, not questioning the fact that I wasn't bothered by the fact that a Shinigami had appeared before me.

I explained I was on the taskforce wanting to arrest Light Yagami, and I explained how L and I had planned to spare Misa from conviction, using a letter written by Light to manipulate her. I told the shinigami of my power to read minds, as well as Light's plans for Misa.

It informed me how it hated Light because it knew he was merely manipulating her, and it only agreed to kill L if Misa's life was in danger. I explained I already knew that because of Light's memories from before he lost ownership of the notebook.

I told the Shinigami of our plan, and it agreed to help, as long as Misa remained safe.

Misa came into the bathroom after the plans had been made, and I left the Shinigami in there to talk to the girl.

The next day, I allowed Misa to escape from me, in order for her to get confirmation on Kira's identity.

Misa returned with a recording of Higuchi stating he was Kira. I was also able to confirm when I grazed the model and saw her memory.

We can finally solve this case, once and for all.

(Bonus)

We went through the plans that L and I came up with, and Light became Kira again, using the piece of death note paper we replaced in his watch.

When Misa was freed from Headquarters, one of L's contacts took over her care and began counselling her.

Once we received confirmation from the contact that Misa was making progress in weakening Light's hold on her, we went through with the rest of the plan.

We brought Aizawa back into the fold, and revealed all of the secret evidence, including the letter that the former chief was able to confirm, was in Light's handwriting.

He was captured and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Since Misa was spared, so was L. The death notes were destroyed. Mogi and Matsuda returned to the police force. Mr. Yagami retired, and I continued solving cases and traveled the world with my boyfriend.

However, now he is my husband, and the father to our two lovely children, both of whom have taken after him in intelligence and love of sugar.

Things have become rather peaceful since Kira. While I am glad the case is behind us, I can't help but be grateful it happened. Only for the simple reason that without Kira making a mess of things, I'd never have met my wonderful husband.

Life is much better now, and I couldn't be happier.
