(Your pov)

We've caught Misa Amane in secret, and now I'm sitting in a room with her, wearing a full mask to hide my face and an earpiece in my ear.

I've tried talking to her, but this girl is being very tight lipped on what she knows. She refuses to speak against her boyfriend.

L, who is watching this, tells me to have her listen to the tape of Light's confession and declaration that he plans to kill her when she has outlived her usefulness.

"He......he was going to kill me?" I could hear her whisper in fear and hurt. She was silent for a few minutes, and nodding and making noises of agreement.

"I will help you, as long as I don't go to prison." She stated after a moment to think. L agrees with that.

"We can do that Miss Amane. We can begin with why you wanted to meet Kira in the first place."

"My parents were murdered in front of me last year, and after a long court trial, he was going to be acquitted due to lack of evidence. Kira had killed him before the case was over, so I wanted to thank Kira."

"The tapes were to get his attention." I stared and

received a nod.

She went on to explain how the eyes allow her to see lifespans as well as names, and she was able to recognize Light as Kira in Aoyama because humans who have a Death Note don't have lifespans that are visible to the eyes.

She found out where he lived and decided that he would be her boyfriend. She would do anything she could to make him fall in love with her, at least until she learned of his plans for her.

She agreed to wear a wiretap and to get him to confess to her.

Three days later, I sat in a room separate from the suite L was currently using, listening to Misa ramble on about her day at the modeling agency.

"Misa." Light interrupted her.

"Yes Light?" I had to admit that the girl can be a good actress if given proper motivation. The sound of hero worship in her voice would have been sickening if I hadn't known it was fake.

"I'm going to stage a meeting between you and L. He is usually with (First Name), so you'll probably meet her as well. I want you to read their names and write them on a sheet of normal paper. Do not use the Death Note."

"Why not?"

"If they die too soon after meeting you, they will realize that you're the Second Kira, and they'll make the connection to me because they will have met you as my girlfriend. L is already suspicious of me. I need them to live for a week or two after they meet you, but it can't be heart attacks. Having them both did of heart attacks together would lead the police straight to us. It'll have to be accidental. L already knows I can control the actions and time of death, but he doesn't know that we can kill using other methods. I will write their name in my death note a couple of weeks after the run in."

"What will we do after we kill them?"

"We will continue judging the evil of the world, and we'll be the God and Goddess of the new world. Kira's word, our word, will become law. But I need your help Misa, so we can create this new world together. After I use the Death Note on L and (First Name) our legacy will truly begin."

That was all we really needed to get the search warrant.

(Four days later)

We have obtained the search warrant to search Light's room. He's at the university right now, and not due back for several hours. Mogi is watching him, while L and Aizawa are with me in the Yagami house.

L is photographing everything, while Aizawa and I, as the ones here who are officers, are searching his room. Aizawa is checking his closet while I'm looking

over the desk.

My eyes were drawn to the locked drawer, with the key in it. My thoughts were on how obvious it was that Light wants someone to check the drawer, but I can't figure out why.

"I have something here!" I hear Aizawa call us from the closet. He's holding a box that's holding a walkie talkie that looks like it was made for children, some papers with American sounding names written downs and a random Japanese ID. A closer look reveals the name Naomi Misora, the missing fiancee of Raye Penber. One of the papers was a smaller piece, with it saying that Naomi Misora was hang herself on January 1st.

"Even if I didn't realize you were right when you got the confession, this just proves it." The man sighed. L had photographed the box before Aizawa bagged everything inside.

I went back to the desk and opened the drawer. Inside was a journal, sitting on a shallow bottom. The journal itself wasn't interesting to me, because it wasn't a Death Note. However, the bottom was. The drawer looked like it would be deeper than the inside appeared.

"Well, now I know why the key was still in the drawer." I looked around the side and underside of the drawer. Light is at least clever enough to fit the drawer to keep the notebook from being discovered.

I noticed a small hole in the underside of the drawer. I looked around for something that would fit and noticed the clear pens on the desk. The ink well might fit. I was proven correct when the false bottom popped up. The noise alerted the men who came over to watch me remove the but of wood.

A low whistle from Aizawa and the clicking of the camera was all I could hear as I stared at the notebook being surrounded by wires connecting to a small plastic tube of some kind of liquid, most likely gasoline. The only thing keeping the notebook from being on fire was the ink well that separated the two pieces of metal from completing the circuit. A look at the false bottom revealed a triangle of rubber, which was meant to be in the pens place when the false bottom was in place.

It didn't take us long to call Mogi and have him arrest Light.

Death Note in custody, we returned to the hotel where we checked over everything we collected.

The walkie talkie was sent to a lab for prints and DNA, which ended up being a match for Raye Penber, confirming that Light had been in contact with the agent prior to his death.

While the evidence for Penber was circumstantial, the evidence for Naomi Misora was not. A search team was sent out, and her body was found, and the cause, and time of death and was exactly as Light wrote it.

(Bonus)

The case was over, Light is heading to prison, and Misa was going to therapy with a former Wammys kid to deal with not only the case, but the deaths of her parents that led to her obsession with Kira.

The best thing, though, is that L is still alive. In fact, L had brought me to Wammys house to meet his successors and had asked me to help train them up.

Due to the lack of crime after Kira, L and I decided to search the globe for other mystical children in order to save any child from having to suffer the way we did.

We have since found 15 children in need of new homes, either being used by their guardians of their power, or being abandoned out of fear.

Together we have founded a second home for mythical children, and I have called up some of my friends to help train the new generation in their powers.

We hope that in the years to come these children will become great members of society as doctors, police officers, firefighters, and other important jobs.

The world was finally beginning the healing process.
