(L's pov)
I was sitting on the floor of my bedroom, taking a break from the monitor room. I was still keeping an eye on both Kira suspects, but I was also looking over evidence. Trying to figure out why Light and Misa appear to have lost their memories.
A sudden bright light startled me, coming from the bed behind me.
The light disappeared, revealing a sleeping girl. She looked to be about my age. Her (length/color) hair spread around her on the pillow.
She was wearing a (favorite color) long sleeve night shirt and black sleeping pants.
I was startled once again as things magically appeared in the room. There was a glow in the wardrobe. a hairbrush appeared on the desk. A few other things appeared throughout the room. Though it all felt like they belonged there.
Like the girl. Who seemed to have been waking up as I was lost in confused thought.
"Good morning darling." Did I really just say that? He asked himself confused. Where did this girl come from? Why did he call her 'darling?'He sat there confused for a moment, his mind racing as he felt new information filling his mind.
He knew that this girl, that he was sure had just appeared out of nowhere, was in fact his girlfriend. Her name was (First Name) and she had been a part of his life for a long time.
He had memories of her being there when they were growing up, though it felt strange. Like the memories were lost in a sea of fog.
"Good morning." She greeted him back, sounding as confused as he felt.
"Are you okay? You were tossing and turning a lot last night." I asked her, sounding concerned.
"I'm alright. I just wished you were in bed with me." She stated, and I gave a quiet sigh.
"I know I promised to sleep last night, but I got sidetracked with work. I'm sorry."
She gave me a soft smile and got out of bed, sitting beside me on the floor."It's okay. I know how focused you can be when trying to solve a case." She hugged me and gave me a kiss on the cheek that made me smile.
Is that what love feels like?
I felt so lost. Part of my mind knows that this girl, (First Name) just appeared out of nowhere. But the other half would swear we had been inseparable for years.
So which was it? Was she always a part of my life? Or did she just randomly appear?
She stood up and went over to the closet, looking over the clothes she had to wear.
I sat there for a while is a state of confusion, before finally giving up on that mystery. I have more important things to focus on. I can decide what is going on with (First Name) later.
I entered the monitor room, and was somehow not surprised by just how easily (First Name) fit into the taskforce.
Nobody was reacting to her presence, as though she had always been there. So had my mind simply been playing tricks on me with the light? As the days passed, my mind became less confused as more memories filtered into my thoughts. Why had I been so confused in the first place?
I had a memory of meeting her at Wammys when we were kids. I remember going to classes together. Working on practice cases together. I remember her asking me out three years ago.
I remember I was going to propose to her before Kira began killing criminals.
I remember her begging me to let her come with me, and being unable to tell her no.
I could never tell (First Name) no. She is far too important to me.
On October 24th (First Name) was with Misa as her agent. I was supposed to be looking over the files of the Yotsuba men.
But my mind was still on her. It was so strange for her to not be here. It felt uncomfortable.
I was tired and stressed. Light was annoying me. He wouldn't shut up about how I was wrong about him and Misa. All I wanted to do right was curl up under a blanket and sleep in her arms.
I was relieved when she finally returned. It was like the sun had returned after a winter storm.
I was concerned though when she told me that she had a date with Higuchi. She isn't actually interested in him of course. She simply wanted to get closer to solving this case.
(Timeskip)
I was so proud of my girlfriend. She was able to convince Higuchi to confess. We now have enough to continue the case.
I was also terrified for her. She was so close to Kira. It's creepy to think she had been alone with the killer.
I held her close that night. Making sure she knew I loved her and I was grateful for her effort.
I could tell she was worried about my reaction to how she got the confession.
The plan to capture Higuchi went according to plan. (First Name) grabbed the weapon and shoved it under her shirt before anyone else could get it.
