A week later
"I'm gonna miss this place," Taehyung sighed, gazing around at the familiar surroundings. "We have so many memories here."
Taehyung was sitting on the couch while Jungkook was standing beside him, surrounded by their packed luggage as they discussed their soon-to-be-abandoned house.
Jungkook nodded in agreement. "Yeah, but it's time to move now. I told you to let me go alone, finish my work and come back. But you didn't listen to me. Now don't be emotional."
Taehyung huffed, slapping Jungkook's chest with his fist, "That's because I love you too much and can't stay away from you. I need to see you in front of my eyes every single day."
"I love you too, my dear." Jungkook leaned down and whispered against Taehyung's lips, pecking those red cherry lips once, "and you are so gorgeous, baby." He added, to which Taehyung shyly smiled.
As they spoke, they carefully loaded their suitcases and boxes into the car. Well, only Jungkook, because he didn't let Taehyung carry a single box, except for his small sling bag which had Taehyung's and Taehee's medicines in it.
Taehyung stepped out of the house along with Taehee and locked the door behind. He bid goodbye to his neighbors before settling his daughter down in the backseat and her wheelchair folded and placed in one corner.
"Alright, let's go," Jungkook said, getting inside the car. He checked if his daughter and husband had put on the seatbelt. When he ensured that everything was alright, he started the car.
The drive to their new temporary home was a long one, taking them from the bustling city– Seoul, to a more isolated area known as Blackwood. As they drove, they admired the scenic views out the window, with trees and fields passing by in a blur.
Taehyung leaned his head against the window, enjoying the peace and quiet of the countryside. "This is so different from our old place. I kinda... like it."
Jungkook smiled. "Me too. It's nice to escape the city every once in a while, but I also miss our old house."
As he drove, Jungkook’s mind was filled with a mix of feelings. On one hand, he was excited to tackle a new investigation and ensure justice was served for the victim and their loved ones. On the other hand, he couldn’t help but worry about the safety and well-being of his family as they moved to an isolated place that was unfamiliar to them. He doesn't know how his daughter is going to react to this big change in her environment. The girl was very comfortable in their previous house.
His mind went back to the conversation he had with his senior a week ago, asking his senior to provide him a bigger place because he will be taking his family along with him.
"Senior, I have a request," Jungkook said, standing in front of the man sitting on the chair, "Can I get a bigger place to stay, sir?"
"Why is that Jeon? You are just going there to investigate and solve a case. An officer's quarter will be enough for you."
"Sir, I am taking my family along with me, they say they can't stay alone without me. Taehyung– I mean my husband is pregnant."
"I'm sorry but I can't let you take your family along. You know that kind of place is not suitable for someone who is pregnant. I don't want anything bad happening to your spouse."
"Please sir," Jungkook pleads, his eyes watering, "I know about it very well but… he is not ready to listen to me. I have no other option. He– he needs my attention and love and without it he would be very upset and it's not good for the baby as well."
