Jungkook slowly stirred on the bed, his mind still clouded with remnants of dreams as he tried to wake up from the slumber. The room was free from any disturbance, filled only with the peaceful hush of morning, until a heart-wrenching sound shattered the stillness.
A faint sobbing voice echoed throughout the house, intertwining with the fresh morning breeze. It reverberated against the walls, distinctly feminine yet filled with an indescribable pain.
Startled, Jungkook's eyes fluttered open, instantly drawn to the source of the sorrowful melody. He carefully untangled himself from his husband, who still peacefully slept beside him, despite the noise.
Jungkook's heart skipped a beat at the sight of their precious daughter, nestled between them, dreaming peacefully with an innocent look upon her round chubby face. With a tender touch, Jungkook ensured they would remain undisturbed in their sleep, hoping to shield them from the world's troubles for a little while longer.
As he tiptoed out of the bedroom, Jungkook's detective instincts kicked in, compelling him to investigate the mysterious sounds within his own sanctuary.
He couldn't ignore the strange intrusion; curiosity urged him forward, his senses heightened and alert. Every creak of the wooden floorboards beneath his bare feet urging him onward.
Jungkook stepped out of his bedroom, feeling a sense of unease in the air. As he walked down the hallway, something caught his attention. Black muddy footprints which almost looked like black blood, trailed along the dark wooden floors, leading towards the unoccupied room in their house. Confusion replaced his curiosity, as he had not noticed these footprints before. They were going to the room that was supposed to be given to Taehee in the beginning.
"It's strange that Hyun-Joo didn't hear any noise, considering she has sharp ears. She would be the first one to check out." He murmured softly to no one in particular.
Intrigued, Jungkook decided to enter the room for the first time. With each step, he followed the footprints, which seemed to grow more prominent as he approached the door. As he turned the handle and swung the door open, he was met with a chilling sight. Forgetting about the mysterious noise, which had completely stopped as soon as the door was swung open.
The room was eerie, the air thick with strange vibes. A shadowy figure etched on the wall, as if it were watching him intently. The room appeared normal at first, but something about it sent shivers down Jungkook's spine. The scratches on the wall told a story of someone who was tortured, leaving deep marks even after a long time had passed.
His detective mind kicked in once again, as Jungkook closely inspected the scratches on the wall. His fingers traced the lines, trying to understand the purpose behind them.
Judging from their depth, it was clear that whoever the previous owners were had endured unspeakable horrors within this very room. However, he couldn't make sense of the strange drawings scattered across the walls. They depicted eerie scenes, the unsettling images leaving Jungkook with more questions than answers.
He was certain of one thing– this very room held an untold secret which was buried somewhere deep and was long forgotten.
Feeling a sense of discomfort, Jungkook made a swift decision. He decided to lock the door, not wanting his husband to stumble upon the creepy room.
The unease he felt demanded caution for his family, and the last thing he wanted was someone entering there. Pushing the door shut, the click of the lock echoed eerily in the silence.
Now– determined to unravel the mysterious origin of the footprints, Jungkook carefully followed their trail. They continued to lead him through the house until he reached the backyard door.
