Jungkook had returned home, his mind still heavy with the concerns Hyun-Joo had raised over the phone earlier in the day. As evening descended, he found himself quietly slipping into the backyard, away from Taehyung's jealous eyes. There, he discovered Hyun-Joo already waiting for him, her expression a mixture of fear and unease.
"Hyun-Joo," Jungkook began softly, concern etched across his features, "you mentioned something earlier about Ju Ho's visit. Could you please tell me everything that happened?"
Hyun-Joo swallowed hard, her voice trembling as she recounted the events of the day, her words mirroring those she had shared on the phone. "Sir," she started, "Ju Ho was here earlier. He came in through the window of your bedroom and he was talking to Taehyung about someone named Elvira. It seems she died here, and her spirit is said to be haunting the house. Taehyung already knows about it."
Jungkook's brow furrowed in surprise. "Taehyung knows about it?" he questioned, his voice laced with bewilderment. "Why didn't he ever mention this to me?"
Hyun-Joo bit her lip, her eyes darting around nervously before she continued, "I think, sir, he didn't want to worry you any further. He's been really scared, and I think he didn't want you to be concerned about him as you are quite stressed about your case."
Jungkook sighed, realizing the weight of Taehyung's silence. "I see," he mumbled, deep in thought. "Hyun-Joo, you mentioned unusual occurrences you witnessed last night. Do you believe they were caused by this... Elvira spirit?"
Hyun-Joo nodded, her fear evident. "Yes, sir," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "The things I saw last night were unlike anything I've experienced before. I'm genuinely scared."
Jungkook reached out to gently place a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Hyun-Joo, we mustn't jump to conclusions just yet. It's still not confirmed who Elvira is, and whether her spirit is indeed haunting this place. Please, don't let fear consume you. I will find out the truth behind this Elvira."
Hyun-Joo managed a weak smile, grateful for Jungkook's calming presence. "Thank you, sir," she said softly. "I'll do my best to stay strong and not let fear get the best of me."
As the two of them stood in the dim twilight of the backyard, Hyun-Joo knew that the mysteries surrounding Elvira and the strange occurrences within their home were far from being solved. But detective Jeon Jungkook was in this with her together, and she knew they could confront whatever secrets that lay hidden in the shadows.
Late into the night, the dim glow of Jungkook's table lamp cast a soft, contemplative ambiance in his room. His mind was restless, and he couldn't shake the lingering questions that swirled within him. The absence of communication from Taehyung regarding Ju Ho's visit weighed heavily on him.
Jungkook deeply despised Ju Ho, sensing an air of deceit around him. But now, his concerns deepened as he pondered why Taehyung chose to keep this visit a secret. He glanced over at Taehyung, who was lying on the bed, seemingly lost in peaceful slumber.
Not wanting to disrupt Taehyung's rest, Jungkook hesitated before finally deciding to broach the subject. "Taehyung," he began tentatively, "what did you do today?"
Taehyung, still half-asleep, blinked up at Jungkook before responding, "Oh, not much, love. I spent time with our daughter, read some magazines, did some meditation, and then just rested. Why did you ask so suddenly?"
Jungkook nodded, but his heart ached at the omission. "I see," he replied, his voice tinged with a hint of sadness. "I just felt like asking about your day, that's all."
