Two days had passed since the criminal– Ju Ho Shin was arrested, and today marked the pivotal moment when Detective Jeon Jungkook would disclose the intricate details of the case at Seoul's City Hall. The clock relentlessly ticked toward 7 o'clock in the evening, raindrops tapping insistently against the windowpane, creating a somber symphony.

In the dimly lit bedroom, Jungkook and Taehyung shared a moment of peace. Taehyung's eyes fixed on Jungkook's necktie, fingers deftly navigating the intricate loops as he helped his husband secure it. The rain outside painted a melancholic backdrop.

Jungkook turned his face to Taehyung, his gaze on his husband's concentrated face. "Why don't you come with me?" he whispered softly, the words barely audible over the rain's persistent cadence. "I want you to come see me while I give my speech today in front of the media."

Taehyung sighed, his touch gentle yet firm. "I can't, Kook-ah. Taehee has fallen sick with this sudden change in weather. And bringing Jiyeon along is a challenge, and I can't manage both of them alone."

Jungkook's expression shifted, a pout forming on his lips. He wrapped his arms around Taehyung's waist, drawing him close. Their shared silence echoed the unspoken understanding between them. They stood still, not wanting to disturb the room's tranquility, especially with Taehee sleeping soundly on their bed.

As the minutes passed, Jungkook tightened his hold on Taehyung, finding solace in the warmth of their shared embrace. As the rain continued its rhythmic dance against the window, Jungkook and Taehyung swayed gently, locked in a tender embrace. Jungkook's soft voice broke the silence, whispering his genuine desire for Taehyung to accompany him, expressing how much he would miss him at the event.

Taehyung looked up at Jungkook, a gentle smile gracing his lips. He pecked a sulky Jungkook's pouty lips and assured him, "then quickly finish off your work and come back home. I'll be waiting for you with open arms, and then we can cuddle to sleep!"

Jungkook returned a satisfied smile, his fingers absentmindedly tucking strands of Taehyung's hair behind his ears. He gently held Taehyung's hand and kissed his knuckles tenderly, his eyes filled with affection. Concern etched Jungkook's features as he asked, "Will you be scared once I leave?"

Taehyung hesitated, his gaze drifting to Jungkook's blazer. Only two days ago, Jungkook had unraveled a revelation that shattered the assumed truth. Elvira, whom Taehyung thought to be dead, was actually alive, and the true source of the haunting was her evil husband. The revelation had struck Taehyung with disbelief.

Looking deep into Jungkook's eyes, Taehyung assured him, "I won't be scared. I'll try to stay calm and stay close to Mrs. Jeong and the kids." Together, they had come to a realization – Simon's spirit didn't cause trouble when they were together. The hauntings occurred only when they were alone. They also figured out that Simon's spirit only stirred up trouble when Taehyung felt scared or terrified. He was literally feeding on Taehyung's fear. So, as long as Taehyung remained cheerful and calm, it was like a shield against the creepy things that bothered him at home.

"Papa?"

In the midst of their tender moment, Taehee's soft voice unexpectedly called out to them. Startled, Jungkook and Taehyung pulled away, turning their attention to their little angel who was gazing back at them with innocent curiosity.

Jungkook, with a sweet smile, walked over to Taehee and crouched down to her eye level. "What happened, my little sunshine?" he asked gently.

Taehee extended her arms towards him, making grabby hands. Jungkook lifted her up, cradling her in his arms. He could feel the elevated body temperature of her little form as she hugged his neck, a sign of her illness. Taehee placed a kiss on Jungkook's cheek and inquired, "W-where are you go-ing, Papa? I want– to come too."
