It had been two days since Jiyeon's birth, and in the Jeon household, a sense of euphoria permeated the air. The arrival of their little angel had breathed new life into the family, filling their hearts with joy and contentment. Jungkook, once consumed by his perplexing case, now found solace and distraction in the presence of his newborn daughter.

His mind, previously cluttered with the intricacies of the case, was now free to focus on the simpler pleasures of fatherhood. The soothing lullabies, the delicate scent of baby powder, and the warmth of Jiyeon's tiny body cradled in his arms created a sanctuary where the perplexities of his profession held no sway.

As he rocked Jiyeon gently in his arms, he couldn't help but marvel at the innocence and fragility of the life entrusted to him. Her chubby face, framed by a tuft of dark hair, bore no hint of the chaos that loomed outside their cozy haven.

Wanting to return to the case with a fresh perspective, Jungkook harbored the hope that these precious moments would provide him with the clarity he needed to unravel the mysteries of his most challenging case.

Jungkook cherished these fleeting moments of peace and normalcy, his mind free from the endless string of questions, and the weight of responsibility that came with his badge. He knew that the case, with its tangled web of motives and secrets, would wait for him. But now, in this cocoon of happiness, he was content to let time pass, to bond with Jiyeon, and to recharge his spirit.

After carefully putting Jiyeon in her crib, Jungkook reached out his finger to her, and she immediately curled her tiny hand around his, while he whispered softly, "I'll go back to work soon, little one." He murmured, "when I do, I'll be a better detective and a better father. I'll also uncover the truth behind the murders of all those young girls."

Jungkook had come to understand that life, like his case, was a puzzle with many pieces. Some fit together seamlessly, while others require time and patience to reveal their connections. He had faith that in the serenity of these early days of fatherhood, the pieces of the case would start to fall into place, and he would emerge with a deeper understanding of the hidden mysteries used to haunt his thoughts.

While Jungkook was reveling in the newfound joy of fatherhood, Taehee– who was sat by the baby cradle, was equally enchanted by the arrival of her baby sister. Taehee greeted this new chapter in their family's life with boundless enthusiasm. She was the embodiment of glee. From the moment Jiyeon entered their home, the older sister couldn't contain her excitement. Her boundless energy and ceaseless chatter filled every corner of their household, painting it with a vibrant aura.

Taehee's eyes shone with delight, her small fingers reaching out to touch the baby's delicate features. "Ji-yeon," Taehee cooed, her voice a symphony of affection.

"I'm y-your big… sister, and I'm going t-to-sh-show you all the– amazing things in the world!" She said those same words for the nth time in those two days. "We will play to-gether... o-once you grow u-up."

Jungkook watched this exchange between his daughters with a heartwarming smile. And in the presence of these two precious beings, he was reminded of the simplicity and purity of familial love.

Taehee, like a doting storyteller, regaled Jiyeon with stories that Hyun-Joo used to tell her before she had passed away.

The room resonated with her melodious voice as she spun tales of magical forests, brave knights, and fairies. Jiyeon, though too young to understand the words, seemed captivated by her sister's storytelling, her eyes fixated on Taehee's animated expressions.

Jungkook couldn't have asked for a better companion for Taehee. Jiyeon's presence had transformed their home into a place of laughter and warmth, a stark contrast to the solitary life Taehee might have led without any friends.
