Jungkook stepped into his warm, comforting home, feeling a sense of relief wash over him as he closed the door behind him. The weight of the crime scene and the evidence he had collected was now kept aside for a while, so that he could finally relax within the peaceful walls of his home.
Removing his shoes with a tired sigh, Jungkook made his way towards the bathroom, his mind still processing the disturbing images from the investigation. He needed to cleanse himself, both physically and mentally, before joining his family for dinner.
The warm water cascading down his tired body provided a momentary escape, loosening the knots of stress from his muscles. Jungkook let himself linger a bit longer under the soothing stream, allowing his troubled thoughts to gradually disappear.
Dressed in oversized comfortable clothing, Jungkook made his way to the dining area where his love of life, and their adorable daughter awaited him. However, Taehyung's sulky expression and pouting demeanor immediately caught his attention.
"What happened, honey? Why do you look so upset?"
"I'm really upset at what Taehee did today!"
"Taehee?" Jungkook asked confused, turning to look at his daughter who was busy stuffing the noodles in her mouth, "what did you do to make him so upset, baby?"
"I don't… k-know, papa."
As they began to eat their food, Taehyung began complaining, his displeasure evident in every word.
He recounted how Taehee had misbehaved earlier, "You know what Jungkook? Today, Ju Ho had come especially to meet me, and he was just being nice to Taehee, but she bit him on his hand. I can't believe she did that! It's embarrassing!"
"Why was he here?" Displeasure was evident in Jungkook's voice.
"I told you! He came to meet me. Taehee misbehaved and ruined the whole meeting. I'm telling you Jungkook, she's been acting quite strange lately."
Jungkook paused midway through his meal, dropping his chopsticks in his bowl of noodles, his brows furrowing at the mention of Ju Ho coming to meet Taehyung in his absence.
A sense of unease settled within him, as he recalled his deep dislike for the man. Ju Ho had been a source of annoyance, relentlessly flirting with Taehyung despite knowing he was in a committed relationship.
"But that's not the only thing bothering me. Hyun-Joo was acting weird this morning too."
"What do you mean?"
"She was creepily staring at me and Ju Ho while we were talking. And then she had the audacity to ask Ju Ho to leave because he had overstayed his welcome! I don't understand what's her problem?"
While Taehyung continued his grievances, Jungkook's expression hardened, his eyes narrowing on his partner. "I want her fired, Jungkook. I can't have someone like her around."
"Taehyung, why are you so concerned about Ju Ho? I don't like you getting close to other guys, especially someone like him." Jungkook questioned why he had even invited Ju Ho into their home, knowing full well Jungkook's disdain for him. "I never tried to control you or asked you to stop talking to Ju Ho. I just don't want you getting too close. He should know his boundaries as well."
Jungkook had hoped for Taehyung to be a little more considerate, a boundary to be drawn when it came to Ju Ho's advances.
"I'm not getting close to anyone. I just think Hyun-Joo crossed her line."
