28th October 01:56. Grand Hotel Reykjavik. Reykjavík, Iceland.

Third Person POV.

Sophia ran down the emergency stairs of the hotel as fast as she could and with her heart still beating faster than usual. Her encounter mere seconds ago was causing a whirlwind of emotions in her that she could not pinpoint at the moment, and maybe even after everything, she wouldn't be able to.

It was all just too much to handle.

As she reached the last steps, she saw police cars, ambulances, and police going in and out of the building. She turned to look for her uncle and Francois, when a paramedic came to her.

-Miss Dumont! Are you hurt?.- He asked as he saw the bruises and blood covering her face.

She couldn't really say that she just killed the man in charge of the event, could she?

-No, I-I'm fine, just in a little pain.- She said and the paramedic nodded. The man walked her to an ambulance and helped her take a seat on the steps of it.

The paramedic looked at her with worried eyes and nodded, taking out his kit to fix her up.

-Don't worry Miss Dumont, you're going to be fine.- The paramedic said at the same time a policeman came to them.

-Miss Dumont, are you okay? Can you tell me what you saw?.- The policeman asked and she nodded, starting to tell the story. The policeman took notes and in the middle of her story, Pierre and Francois appeared.

Both stood beside the policeman and listened to Sophia's statement.

-I-I don't, I don't know what happened.- She stuttered looking at the policeman with teary eyes. Pierre and Francois with concern covering their faces. -I was in my room ready to go to bed when I heard gunshots and then, I-I took a look out of the door and a man came towards me and attacked me. I managed to render him unconscious and then I ran but they were in the main hallways so I took the emergency exit.- Sophia said and the man nodded.

-Did you see anything else, Miss Dumont?.- The police asked her and she looked at him. Shaking her head, she swallowed.

-No, nothing. I just took my things and ran.- She lied. She had seen something, a lot actually and someone, but she was not going to give that piece of information to anyone else. -Can you tell me what happened?.- Sophia asked, wanting to know what was the story they were giving to everyone who was there without really knowing what had been going on.

-We found out that Mr. Brajovic was involved in some dangerous business and apparently someone came to take care of him. That's when the shots fired. But now, those people are nowhere to be seen.- The policeman said, and Pierre, Sophia and Francois shared a look.

After the detective left and Sophia's injuries were being finished getting cleaned and stitched, the paramedic left her to rest a little in the ambulance as he went to tend other patients.

Francois and Pierre looked at her, as she bent over and grabbed a briefcase from the floor. She handed it to Pierre and he took it with wide eyes.

-The journal is inside and some letters that I found as well, we can check them out and see what they are for and for who.- Sophia said and Pierre and Francois nodded.

-Dordevic?.- Pierre asked, even though he already knew her answer. He saw the broken skin on her knuckles, the gash on her forehead, the bruises on the jaw and cheekbones and the purple eye as well as the broken skin on the bridge of her nose.

He knew she had taken quite the beating, but he also knew she had given one worse.

-Dead.- Sophia deadpanned and both men nodded. She looked at them and a lump grew on her throat. Her eyes started to water and she took a shaky deep breath. Turning to Pierre, she bit her lip nervously. -I'm sorry.- She whispered, her lip quivering. Pierre looked at her with soft eyes. -I know I shouldn't have. I'm so sorry.- She said and before she broke down, Pierre quickly wrapped her in his arms.
