25th August 2012. 08:45. Gleason's GYM, Brooklyn. New York City, NY.

Third Person POV.

Sophia's head turned to the side as she received a punch straight in the jaw. She moved it, trying to take the soreness and pain away. Smirking at her opponent with raised eyebrows, she chuckled.

-I didn't know you had it in you.- She said and her friend laughed at her comment.

-I don't, but you asked me and I quote, to "don't hold back just because I'm your friend or because I'm a woman", so I listened to you.- Her friend said and Sophia shook her head, placing her hands on her hips.

-Still, I didn't know you would actually do it, I'm surprised.- Sophia replied and her friend shrugged.

-My morals and my appreciation for you made me hesitate and believe me I regret ever listening to you.- Steve said and Sophia let out another laugh.

-Relax, I'm okay. It was not that bad because I know your strength and I know that punch was so much more delicate than the ones you usually throw.- Sophia said laughing and Steve nodded.

-Don't want to hurt your beautiful face.- Steve said out of nowhere and just as the words left his mouth he almost regretted it.

Lately, after the battle of New York and their adventures exploring the city and the outskirts, in the last months, the relationship between Sophia and Steve had been growing. They were a little closer than before and their friendship was getting stronger.

Just like their feelings.

Nonetheless, both of them had been pushing them aside, because things were going so well between them, none of them wanted to mess up and also, they didn't want to make the other uncomfortable. But sometimes, comments like this came from Steve and Sophia, none of them actually thinking before saying it and they couldn't really hold back. And just as they felt like regretting it, they would see the blush in each other's faces and smile, knowing their compliments were stirring something inside of them.

Sophia blushed at Steve's words and turned to the side, to look through the window with a smile on her face. She smiled at him and without knowing exactly what to say, she just blurted the first thing that came out of her mind.

-You won't, don't worry.- Sophia said and just to tease Steve, she smiled flirtingly at him. -And thanks for the compliment, Cap.- She said, winking at the man, now making him blush.

Sophia liked to tease Steve sometimes, just because she loved his reaction at her comments. He would blush and feel all flustered and look everywhere except her face. She loved to see him smile shyly at her and also because it seemed like he never had someone flirt with him like this, without counting the girls that oggled him in the street or when he was somewhere where people recognized him.

She felt special for making him feel like that, even when she told herself not to do it because he didn't feel the same way.

Steve was about to reply to Sophia, but the sound of a ringing phone stopped him.

-I think it's yours.- Steve said and Sophia trotted towards her bag.

Opening the zipper, she took out her phone and when she looked at the ID Caller, she took a deep breath. Turning her head to look at Steve, she found him removing the tape from his hands. Turning back to look through the window, she answered.

-Hello?.- She said.

-Sophia.- The voice on the other side said and she took a deep breath. -We got him.- Her eyebrows furrowed and she stuttered, trying to find the right question to ask.
